  • Help Design a Haunted Jungle Cruise Ride in October!

With Halloween now only four months away and the Haunted Mansion getting somewhat not so new for many visitors, i'd like to see the Jungle Cruise turn into a Haunted Jungle Cruise Ride for about a month and a half, maybe starting in middle september to oct 31st.

What kind of ideas could they do with the ride? What kind of Disney characters would have a cameo(s) in the ride? What kind of jokes would be added?

If Disneyland did go through with this idea, would you ride it?

Let's have fun with this thread.

They could hang fake ghosts from the trees. And then some dumb joke about the people under the sheets or something. *shrugs*

This jungle has no windows, and no doors.

And did you know Trader Sam and the Hatbox Ghost are the SAME GUY?

Have prey animal skeletons moving around. Like Skeleton birds flying around. Skeleton Deers looking mad with red ghostly eyes at the people. Anything that gets eaten easily. The skipper can say something like they don't realize they are even dead or better yet have the skipper say "Watch out. They are out for revenge" or something like that.

Do we have imagineers in training here or imaginedon'ts here???

I'd love to see a ghostly figure or skeleton hands rise up out of the water pointing the way to absolute doom!!!

Vampire bats hanging in the trees.

gravestones in the water, moving side to side.

The boat slightly rocks at certain points in the ride to let the guest know that friendly ghosts have boarded, yes this may scary little children. LOL

A witch performer casting spells from a land based area as each boat glides by.

Now doesn't it sound like a fun ride on an October night?

awwww, Thank you Micoofy Duck.*hugs* That healed my trying heart.

I kept thinking of your skeleton hands idea ,btw. Maybe have the skeleton hands around where the alligators are.

*smiles* I think that would be kind of creepy for kids too.

LOL yeah well *Shrugs* I had nothing. Rocking the boat would be fun, maybe say that something's on top of it? Um... You could have an old JC boat off to the side with skeletons in it? Like a former crew that went on the scary adventure?

Re: Help Design a Haunted Jungle Cruise Ride in October!

First off, I would have the cruise filled with fog at night, making it hard to see and accentuating spooky lighting. I would also add many "Scary" animals such as giant spiders, rats, snakes, etc...

If possible I would remove the elephants from the bathing pool and put in elephant skeletons and have it be an elephant graveyard with crocs in the waters. I would also remove the apes from the camp scene and just have the camp empty with the car running upside town.

For the season I would create a spooky cave or reed forest to travel through durring the african velt section. The skipper could warn us about being cursed for entering the sacred elephant graveyard. Some ghost effects could happen here.

Next up is the hippo pool where the hippos have been replaced with skeleton warriors coming up from the water.

I would turn the natives dancing into a sacrifice with a bound person being held upside down on the rack. More skeleton warriors would attack from the sides. Around this area I would add plenty of skulls on sticks on the land and in the water.

Finally, at the end, Trader Sam would forgive us and present us with a jackolantern bag filled with halloween candy.

The problem with this changeover, besides being incredibly costly to replace so much, would be that durring the day it wouldn't nearly be as scary. Unless they shaded much of the track with overhead cannopies, it would simply be too bright to get into that propper mood. Also there is the whole problem with displaying cannibals or sacrifices. Heck, even the dead lion was "just too much."
Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.

                          I would:
                          - put glowing red eyes on the piranas
-when everything is quiet, suddenly flying, screaming, skelaton monkeys with red glowing eyes fly through the trees and cross the river, barley hitting the boat.

I have been loving the different skeletons ideas all the time. I love the Skeleton Monkeys idea. That does sound like it would be funny.

Way back about the skeleton hands in the water. That can be a skipper.
