We were just talking about this today while waiting for the ride...lol. I bet they were getting so anxious being stuck right at the exit, but having to stay put in their boat. Didn't they have to wait there for over an hour and a half. Man those poor CMs who had to try and control the situation.

Yes, the ride got seriously stuck for over 90 minutes (one report said) last night. There were children that had to go to the bathroom, babies crying, and adults seriously abusing poor Castmembers. It must have been most frustrating for those people in boats right near the exit, who apparently just "jumped ship" out of frustration.Originally posted by Mickey LoverComment

Wow, interesting. wolfy999, I guess your talking about the ramp thing in Frogberto's picture. Good eye, I missed it until your post. What a nightmare for CM when this happens and for guests knowing that they should be only a minute or two from the exit.
Is it me, or do I keep seeing posts as to POTC (after refurb) keeps breaking down? Is this just because of the standard testing procedure during the soft opening (it is technically a soft opening right?) or is there something else wrong?

This reminds me of when Spaceship Earth broke down on my Disney World trip, and we were stopped right at the end of the loading platform, right before it goes up the ramp into the ride...I was on the ride alone with a party of three that ended up just hopping out of the car, while I sat there until a CM would come and open the door. Foolish, I know, but....
I sat there for about 15-20 minutes, because it broke down and it had a chance of starting again. I was there for a while after the other group jumped out.

Wicket and I were there on Monday and it broke down for 20 minutes right as we were going to get on and then broke down for another 15 minutes right before the first drop

Froggy, you must have been standing less than 10 feet from where my MC group was!!! We were just next to the brick wall before Lafitte's Landing.
Someone from my group has some great pictures of people climbing out of the boats BEFORE the escape ladder came!!! They just hopped over the iron railing, it was awesome!!!! I'll see if I can rustle up those pictures in the next day or two!
