What! No! Please say it is just in rehab or something. The flying carpet (Whole New World) portion is what makes the show.

Sometimes show effects don't work, just like ride effects. I wouldn't worry.

It is there, just not working sometimes. I agree though, without that bit the show just doesn't look right. I love the flying carpet.

I noticed that the Sunday before this last one. We sat in the Orchestra section, a few rows back, but kept looking up for the magic carpet. They chose not to run that part of the show during the "Whole New World" song last week.

Maybe they are having technical difficulties, and just don't want anyone injured until it's fixed.

Eh. Maybe, just maybe, this is a sign that it is time for a new show!

It wasn't up last Friday, June 30 either. I was thinking they were trying to save some cash and not hire additional actors. Isn't that a second pair that flies through the auditorium?

And...don't shoot me, but I'm still having trouble with the electric wheelchair in a setting that is roughly 3000 years ago. I made that argument to my teenage daughter and she responded that Nick and Jessica weren't breaking up (geenie joke) 3000 years ago either so what's the big deal?

Just a bit distracting to me. I'm sure she's a great singer, but everytime she buzzes across the stage, it just kind of shoots the verisimilitude all to heck.

I completely agree, but I have to say, that is one of the funniest phrases I have ever heard on these boards. :lmao:

They flying carpet wasn't working in January either - it must have been taken out - I've asked about it before, but no one can give me a definitive answer.

I agree with you, Aladdin was okay, but....I dunno it lacked a magic spark. I wish Blast would come back, that was great when they were playing there. I hope the imagineers can come up with a good new idea.

But the "stunt" pair is always needed. A second Aladdin is needed to fly across the stage during the "One Jump Ahead" sequence and also to fall into the Cave of Wonders

Actually, I think it's great that Disney celebrates diversity. :crazylegs A lot of disabled people come to DCA to see the show. The wheelchair is themed so well that I hardly notice it. I've seen the show at least 10 times, the woman in the wheelchair is ALWAYS there. It seems that Jafars, Iagos, and Aladdins come and go........but she stays forever.

The carpet has been out for a long time... at least for a month now.

It should be back later this summer... it's actually a tech. problem, nothing to do with the actors... at least that is what I was told.
