Excellent! The old "one car" bobsleds, Carousel of Progress, shameless Goodyear promotions, and the Autopia cars! Thanks Oogie!

This is Progress City, which guests were able to view at the conclusion of the original COP. This segment was narrated by the mother and father from the show, spotlighting how electricity (remember, it was sponsored by General Electric) would simplify our lives and brighten our cities in the not-so-distant future. Progress City was Walt's original concept for an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT). Epcot today is a far cry from what Walt envisioned.

Excellent pictures, these came out really good. It's amazing how almost none of Tomorrowland's infrastructure has changed since then. The PeopleMover track is intact, CoP's building is relatively unchanged on the outside, the stairs leading up to the Rocket Jets from the PM platform are still there and even the Rocket Jets itself has its infrastructure in place. Tomorrowland has certainly changed its overall appearance and ride lineup, but the underlying infrastructure is still amazingly intact from that time.

Also, just a friendly correction...the Tomorrowland Stage you referred to is actually called the Tomorrowland Terrace Stage. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Tomorrowland Stage was where Space Mountain sits today.

                Here they are:

(some of them were uncorrectable since almost all of the color information and contrast was gone in a couple...you'd have to recolorize it by hand and I wasn't really into spending a few hours on that so I just left them grayscale.)

Great pics Oogie . . . and great recolor Athlonacon.

BTW, did anyone notice that this pic is backwards?

lol, I relized that it is indeed backwards when you said that, thanks for the heads up.

Here is the correct orientation for it...

Wow, just from the entrance to Tomorrowland there was a sign for Monsato, Bell Labs, GE, and Goodyear. Walt must really have needed the money for his vision of the New Tomorrowland back then. I never realized how much of a billboard Tomorrowland was until I saw these pictures.

Yep. There was a lot of corporate sponsorship back then. Monsato did Innerspace, MaBell did America the Beautiful, GE did Carousel of Progress, Goodyear did the People Mover, Hills Brothers, Dole, Fritos, Wonderbread, Bank of America, Sante Fe RR... there have been a slew of sponsors over the years..
