  • Disneyland B-day Weekend Photo Trip Report

Here are some pics to share from our weekend down at Disney. We had a really awesome time, despite the heat. Sunday was MUCH less busy than Monday (due to DL's 51st bday stuff).

Here are some pics: (and about 200 more here: http://greggandkristi.smugmug.com/gallery/1680360/1 )

On the way down we had a blowout:

After taking it to the tire store it was determined that the same thing was about to happen to all 4 tires ... so $360 later we were on our way:

Sunday morning, 8am and it's HOT already:

First stop of course was Pirates:

    Captain Jack is greeting us:

Splash Mountain was the place to be due to the heat:

The Hub had some nice pretty flowers (anybody know what these are?)

Villians Fan and Olympic Nut at the meet:

Fishbulb setting up his next shot:

    The Hub:

The Tiki Room was another great place to beat the heat:

    Along with a Dole Float:

We had a nice lunch at the new Cafe' Orleans, which we all enjoyed:

I took some nice Paradise Pier shots (at least I think so)

If you look closely maybe you can see alot of mice-chatters driking it up:

It was time for the Cove Bar Drink-Up:

    Back over at Disneyland:

Sunday Morning we check out of our hotel, the new DoubleTree on Harbor. Thanks Priceline for $50 a night rooms:

Back at Disneyland, it was alot busier and about 10 - 15 degrees hotter than it was on Sunday:

Over at DCA it was hotter (due to lack of trees or something) but the crowds were managable:

We left at about 1:00, had lunch at Red Robin then drove home on our brand new tires.

Overall we had a great time, can't wait to go back.

I just stayed at the Doubletree - I really liked it!! (except that the ART was a total pain) - but we really liked the pool and got a view of the fireworks at night!! Did you get your hot chocolate chip cookies???

                And your pictures are great!

                    Good morning, son
                    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                    It was pain
                    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

There are just things that you need to talk to other women with. You may have the best relationship in the world with your husband, but there are just times you need your girlfriends. From the tread wear, it looks like underinflation was the problem that caused the blowout. With these extremely hot days, an underinflated tire is just waiting to blow out. I know it sounds cliched, but checking the tire pressure is extremely important, especially during long hot periods of time. A '92-95 Taurus unfortunately doesn't have a tire pressure monitor, but asking to have it checked at each oil change can save a LOT of money not only in tires, but in gas mileage too. Not to mention increase the safety of driving at higher speeds. Now, it looks like there's a '98-2002 Corolla in the reflection, those cars are great for buying new tires, cheap as heck. <--- Major car enthusiast, love the car shots!

Kids are so fun to take to Disneyland, you are so lucky. They see the park so differently than we do and it allows us to see it through their eyes. I know Disneyland takes on a whole new feel when I'm with kids versus with adults.
