  • is the magic carpet up at aladdin?

a while ago people were talking about the aladdin show being closed down...and some people were saying its just being refurbished...a few people commented about trying to see aladdin on the same weekend and the carpet now being up or working...i was wondering if that was still a problem...

I saw Aladdin on Friday and there was no flying carpet. It was working last time I saw the show (early June).

We saw the show this past sunday ( 7/30/06 ) and there was no carpet. I'm guessing it'll be down until the show comes back in late september / early october.

Honestly you must not be that crazy about DCA (well, I guess your name is DL_CRAZE, not DCA_CRAZE anyways, hehe)... It's still pretty simple to understand the first post was asking about the flying carpet which comes out and flys over the audience during the Alladin show at the Hyperion Theater in DCA. DCA stands for Disney's California Adventure, it is a park located across from Disneyland. The Hyperion Theater is located in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot themed area of DCA.

Like painted windows said, I was there two weeks ago and it was working then. It sounds pretty hit & miss whether it will be working for any given showing.

Saw it on the 22nd... no carpet.

Only makes you pay more attention to the skylines passing by. Made me wonder... how does the eiffel tower actually fit in the context of the story?

It's actually a tough fit, but I believe it's supposed to be traveling through
"whole new world".... just like the Greek/Roman and Bejing Tianammin (sp)
Square scenes in the movie, they played it somewhat loose w/ the time/era of
                            what they're showing.

Well, more specifically, the carpet flies over various cities in Europe and Asia, noteably the Acropolis in Athens Greece, the Pyramids and Sphynx of Cairo, Egypt, the Onion Domes of St. Peters at Red Square, Moscow, and the "Tour d' Eiffel" in Paris, France.

I think what the poster was asking was, since the story was set in Ancient Arabia, how could they even possibly fly over more "modern" architecture, such as the Eiffel Tower, since it hasn't been built yet at the time of the story?
