  • AP Blackout Day Tickets

Ok, I have a deluxe AP, and I want to know everything about how to go about buying the 30 dollar blackout day ticket for July 17th. I must be there that day, at all costs! Can I buy it ahead of time, or do I have to buy it the day of? Will they even sell me a ticket on that day, just because of the fact that Dland WILL reach capacity? Thanks in advance for any info you may have!

I imagine you have to purchase it the day of, but I would get there very early- I have heard about people camping out overnight to make sure they are there. It is very possible that the park may reach capacity on that day. I would call or email guest relations if you want to be absolutely positive.

I took some initiative and called guest relations just now. The nice cast member told me that you would have to buy tickets the day of. She said that they will NOT be allowing people to camp out in the esplanade, and that that area is closed off to everyone except the custodial staff after 2am.(*laugh and point at all the people stranded there hoping to camp out*) She said that the parking strucure opens about 45min. to an hour before park opening, and the tickets booths opens half an hour before park opening. The park opens at 8am(i would think) on July 17th, so plan accordingly. That's about all the info anyone could possibly need.

I would still be there early- the lines are bound to be long at the ticket booths.

I wouldn't go unless you don't plan on going on any rides or doing anything that requires a line (eating, going to the rest room.)

If you just want to peoplewatch, that's fine but if you bring Grandma Ethel out on that day it will be worse than December 26th at the Mall of America.

If you hate crowds, dont go, its going to be a nightmare.

I might prefer to go online and just read about it. Unless I get to go with Dramaqueen, hehehe. Are you going?

Unfortunately no I live in South Dakota, so I will not be able to make the actual birthday party. I probably would have avoided it anyways since I the crowds are going to be pretty bad and I can also read about anything special I might have missed.

Maybe we can meet when I go in August (with my entourage of fellow micechatters )

Here's a tip for those who don't want to wait in those long ticket booth lines: go directly to the Group Sales windows and buy your tickets there. Most people don't know that you can get regular park tickets there as well, so the line is practically non-existent. I do it all of the time. Oh boy, now the world knows my secret!
