  • Are PoD and Remember... 100% finished?

I haven't yet seen either the Parade of Dreams or Remember... in person, but I had a question. There were a couple of things Steve Davison talked about in the Cast Blast video that I have yet to see. For example: Confetti blasts in the PoD, strobe lights on the castle float, a huge multitude of Charcters on the finale float as well (including Daisy, Pocahontas and John Smith, Aladdin and Jasmine, and more). Also, in Remember, what about the lingering fireworks in the Shennandoah sequence going onto the castle via projections, or Tink stopping on the top of the castle and enchanting it? Were this effects dropped? Do they exist, but I just haven't seen them? Was Steven Davison just overly optimistic? Anybody know? Also, one other question- what do the Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid floats do during showstops?

I know that the confetti portions of the PoD was dropped because the vaccuums they use to clean up have been banned in the park. Apparently they are not only too loud but dangerous as well. Until they come up with a new way to effectivly do clean up (beyond brooms) we will not see confetti used.

As far as strobe lights and show stops, I have only see the Alice float during a show stop, so I can't help you out there.

As far as "Remember....." there were quite a few things that were discussed for the show including a show that would take effect in both parks and be able to be viewed from the esplanade. That obviously didn't happen at all. However, the show that now exists is absolutely incredible, so I have no complaints. I allow brilliant artists like Steve Davidson to make changes as he sees fit.

There's a working showstop for Lion King and the finale according to RU42's video. I guess that means they got most of them working okay...

Thanks everybody- I was just curious.
Not Afraid- I agree that Davison is a genius and should make chnages as he sees fit. I was just wondering especially about Tink stopping on top of the castle, as in the Cast Blast Presntation (which was not long ago) he seemed so excited about her stopping and zapping the castle.
If anybody has any more info, it would be greatly appreciated!

There are confetti launchers installed on the finale float, but as mentioned, they are not in use. There are also strobes on the finale float, which do flash during the end of the show stop music.

As for Aladdin & Jasmine, sadly they were cut from the parade some time ago. For Daisy, if you look at the wooden pedestal that Cogsworth sits on (on the Beauty and the Beast float unit), you might notice some golden Daisy carvings gracing the corners.

I think it's a great parade, but then again, I'm probably biased a bit. The Ursula float is awesome. Every time you watch the parade, you can sit in a different location, and you'll get to see a different show stop performance.

Hmm I'd imagine it'd be a mess to take those big vacuums out onstage during the madness that occurs after the parade, with it being so very popular and guests not moving after the 2nd parade cause they're ready to wait to see the fireworks. Honestly the money that would be needed to clean up the confetti could be better spent elsewhere such as painting and cleaning in general. Other than that I honestly think steve davison overhyped the parade just a wee bit. Is it really the "new standard" as he put it? It seems just a bit devoid of characters as well. Sure it may have the most performers ever but spread out over 8 or 9 floats you only get a handful per float. Seeing past parades like blast to the past or main street electrical parade, or even modern parades such as many at Tokyo disneyland or even blockparty bash, it seems like the parade is lacking a catchy tune and catchy coreography.

Now the fireworks lived up to expectations. After watching the fireworks a few times I have finally found where tink enchants the castle. Its during the 2nd flight in the middle. She does come to a stop, the music comes to a changing point, she waves her wand toward the castle (she should make more of a dramatic wave to show it better), strobes go onto the castle and it lights up as the music goes to "like a boat out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you through" or whatever. Also for some weird reason no pyro was shot off of coke corner yesterday nor may 5th. I think it might have been in order to allow backstage to be used for guest flow (i sure hope). Without the fireworks on top of that buildings there wasnt the full circle.

Ahh.... I thought that was awkward.... mostly because I didn't hear anything int he soundtrack that sounded like Ursula... maybe for her parade stop, in the speakers they could also play and undertone of her voice singing the song? I don't know... the anamatronics of it was awesome, but the lack of Ursula voice from the speakers put me off

I also noticed last Thursday and Friday nights there was no pyro shot from the Coke Corner roof. Actually, they did shoot off for the "Is this room actually stretching?" part of the Haunted Mansion, but that was it. Most likely it is due to the wind. If there is a slight breeze blowing from that direction which could potentially cause any fallout to fall on the crowds on Main St and the Hub area, they most likely will not use that launch location. Most of the other launch lacations have either buildings or trees near them. Just check out which way the smoke goes after the launches, and hopefully this will make a bit more sense.

I'm guessing that's a wind thing. If you notice, they let off balloons shortly before the fireworks and watch where they go. (eg: over the crowd?)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I thought the PoD was a bit of a let down. I thought it would have more to do with Disneyland.

                            The fireworks were amazing though.
