  • How to make D-land's existing rides MORE fun!

Next time you ride Big Thunder Mountain, turn your whole body to your left and stay that way for the entire ride. Not only do you notice a couple things you've never seen before (those rock formations never get old for me), but you pull a few more g's, and get a little more dizzy than tackling it from the typical forward sitting position.

I figured this out a while back on the fifth day of a six-day stop at Disneyland, and was getting a little tired of riding the same rides over and over again.

Anyone got any new tricks I can try?

I used to ride the Matterhorn single and once up the first incline as you take off, I would kick off my flip flops and I would sit all the way back and stretch my bare feet up to the outsides of the black rubbery handle bar and then I would reach up and hold the insides of that bar as well......and rode the whole ride on my tailbone practically, but it was TOO COOL.

I knew I should never touch the safety bar.

            HA - Funny!
I have the cleanest most well manicured feet in the world! Not only that, feet are cleaner that hands any day. You don't grab things with your feet - you grab them with your hands. So, I state that feet on the safety bar are probably FAR MORE SANITARY than hands are any day. :yea:

Getting high usually does it for me.
"Tonight I wash my hands of you
You set the bar I could not live up to
Tonight the light is breaking through
So thank you very little and send me postcards from hell"

I guess you could argue that getting high makes everything more fun, at least temporarily...

                  HA!

Unknowlingly, I went to Disneyland drunk once. I wasn't driving, but I had 3 large glasses of Maneshevitz wine - and then my buddy James and I headed 2 miles from my Grandma's house to Disneyland....and as I walked down Main Street, I was TOTALLY buzzed......and I couldn't even sit up in Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

This was in Dec 2000. Hysterical.

I did that when I was riding in the same cart as Fishbulb back in August and I crushed him . Poor Fishy . But he's a good sport like usual .

Here was something fun I did that I guess others can try. Me and my friend had a Matterhorn sleigh to ourselves. I was in the front cart and he was in the back one. So all through the ride, I turned backwards and had a casual conversation with him . It was pretty fun, especially when going around the tight turns.

By rights, I probably shouldn't do about 3/4 of what I do at DL - I've got serious back issues. That said, I'm on a couple of different medications for it, one of which makes most rides a lot more fun. :shy:

Last year a friend and I rode Thunder while trying to watch the fireworks. Aside from the whiplash, it was quite an experience. After some time of leaning your head back, the fireworks start to blur together into a pretty dizzy menagerie of color!!!

Just some fun little things to do:

Tiki Room- enjoy it with a Dole Whip. You can eat in the attraction, just please don't make a mess and pick up after yourself.

Indy- everyone does this anyways. Try and guess what door you'll go through- Past, Riches, or Future?

Big Thunder- Just after the 'Goat Trick' keep your eyes focused on the rock face on your right hand side and keep on it through the extended helix. It will mess you up much more than the Goat Trick.

Matterhorn- sit crosslegged. Furthermore, ride during the fireworks. Rollercoaster with a view!

Snow White- count many times the witch terrorizes your mine car. Count how many seconds the ride is 'happy' before you descend into the scary forest. Listen to the safety spiel.

Astro-Orbitor/Dumbo- continuously move your elephant/rocket from its highest position to its lowest and back again while at the same time keeping your gaze either (a) behind you, or (b) behind you, alternating looking over your right shoulder, then left shoulder and repeating. This will mess you up every bit as much as the Goat Trick. This also works well on Orange Stinger.

Innoventions- just stay away from it

Casey Jr. Circus Train- sit in one of the cage cars and don't hang onto anything

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride- try to reason out a coherent reason for the ending of the ride.
The Next Big Disney Thing: starts Jan. 3rd
