You can find really cool concept art for Dick Tracy's Crime Stoppers. Imagine BLAB but in old cars and you're shooting crooks. It was going to be an E Ticket addition to a land inbetween Tomorroland and Main St. Unfortunitly the film didn't do as well as they hoped and all effort in the early nineties went to the goldmine that was Roger Rabbit... good thing that fad lasted...

I'd like the Danny Elfman score in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area.

I want something Dick Tracy related. Which is why I suggested if DcA gets TGMR, they replace the gangster scene for Dick Tracy related...

Something tells me I've heard the montage music (on the CD but replaced by a Madonna song in the film) played at one point there.

This might have been a lot more relevant when the movie came out (approaching 20 years ago), but Disney did nothing to market the film or characters after the movie left theaters (with a respectable $100m+ at the box office). Even the DVD was very stripped down.

                    Re: Dick Tracy

Interesting question! Other than the "movie lot" in DCA, where could something like this go?

My initial reaction to this isn't really warm and fuzzy, as I don't see 1) where this could go, and 2) How this could really "wow" anyone.

It just seems like there are so many other choices I would make on a basis for an attraction before I'd get to Dick Tracy.

It was used, back in the 90's. I remember them having Dick Tracy characters in the park. My kids were TOTALLY in to that movie back then. It's kind of a thing of the past though, in my opinion.

The Disneyland Hotel would also be a good place for video recordings of various entertainment from Disneyland's history, including Dick Tracy: Diamond Double-Cross, to be shown.

I also wouldn't mind being able to buy a D.V.D. of that show. It was very well-done.

Didn't the great Stephen Sondheim do the music for Dick Tracy? I am sure he wrote at least one of the songs.

I have the show on my youtube. Been making extra DVD copies recently.

I loved watching the movie as a kid. I watched with my college roommates and they liked it as well.

                              Re: Dick Tracy

Why I like the idea of Dick Tracy is that it's a real life adventure, based on American history coupled with fanciful characters. I love that they in essence are the PotC pirates for the 30's. Which is a time period that Walt never had a chance to explore. If we look back at some of the movies like "Never a Dull Moment" gangsters can be very "tongue in cheek". The freshness of the Idea is what really draws me in.
