  • Holidayland 2007

The marketing department loves the Festival Arena because private events can be hosted there. But, the venue was never designed for that purpose, and the place is occupying valuable real estate.

Has Disney ever considered upgrading the existing picnic area West of the entrance to Disneyland and temporarily cordoning that venue for private events, instead? It lies on the former site of Holidayland.

Holidayland was a HUGE area where Pirates and HM are located now. The picnic area is a small little area that would not work for anything large scale.

Not to mention, it's on the outside of the park.

Holidayland was on the outside of the part in 1957. If you look at the other thread going about it you can see pictures.

I've been suggesting putting the outside revenues of Millionaire, H&D, and Festival Arena into a new lot located in Timon Tram lot stop (north of HPB). It can connect to DCA between Monsters & H&D area and be called a "Production Offices" walkway from DCA's perspective. Access to Disneyland through esplanade. This area would have both an indoor and outdoor area that is equal yet above the current offerings they have now- mainly because this will actually be purpose-built specifically for various private functions and suit those needs and requirements.

But everyone seems to be so into expanding DCA's HPB into Timon stop. That would just create an unwanted dead end Critter Country style.
