  • Sleeping Beauty's Castle Measurements

in my ceramics class this semester we have to build an "architectural" piece. i chose to do the castle.

my question is ... does anyone know the measurements?? i want to make it to scale and this would really help.

Yknow I got all excited till I read the "Castle" part.
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

      Only thing I could find:

Opened July 17, 1955, the castle is the oldest of all the Disney castles. It reaches a height of 77 feet (23.4696 meters) but to park visitors it seems taller because of the use of forced perspective.

I seem to recall seeing "blue prints" on eBay before. Might have just been the elevation though.

You MIGHT be able to figure the scale based on the dimensions of the paper model available at http://www.disneyexperience.com/mode...tle_model.html

To quote Ricky Roma, it may mean something to you, it may not, I don't know.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
That was wonderful! Bravo! I loved that! Ah, that was great! Well, it was pretty good. Well, it wasn't bad. Uh, there were parts of it that weren't very good though. It could have been a lot better. I didn't really like it. It was pretty terrible. It was bad. It was awful! It was terrible! Take 'em away! Boo! Boo!

The model in the First 50 Years exhibit(not the opening day model, the one in the fantasyland display case) is a scale model I believe. You could study that one.

Yes, the model in the Opera House is the field model that was used to build the castle, so its proportions will be accurate. That will probably be your best bet.
