  • Meet The Robinsons - Peoplemover

Forget The Incredibles bubble idea for a peoplemover redo do it like the brief concept of the Peoplemover from Meet the Robinsons. The idea from MTR is a set of cars (much like the old Peoplemover) with a large clear cover so you can see all around, unlike the Incredi-bubble which only had a forward view. Plus MTR idea is from the future wher Incredibles is today. Just an idea, plus it has been a few days since we had a Peoplemover thread.

Sounds cool. I am going to see MTR tonight so I should have a better opinion of it after that.

I like it, but something seems funny about "hover time traveling cars" cruising around on the pm track when we have Autopia right next door..

BTW has anyone noticed a resemblance in the vehicle design for Hong Kong's autopia cars to the hover time traveling one in Meet the Robbinsons?

I thought the same thing after seeing Meet the Robinsons. But I think something (I don't know what, exactly) can be done.
That was wonderful! Bravo! I loved that! Ah, that was great! Well, it was pretty good. Well, it wasn't bad. Uh, there were parts of it that weren't very good though. It could have been a lot better. I didn't really like it. It was pretty terrible. It was bad. It was awful! It was terrible! Take 'em away! Boo! Boo!

It is really just a quick look as Wilbur and Lewis are flying thru the future toward home. But it is a cool look and would fit better then a egg going down the track.

I'm pretty sure the PeopleMover in the movie was a nod at the PeopleMover, it's shown right after we see Todayland. Obviously not identical but everything about them was very PeopleMover. People in the audience from when I saw the film swooned when they came up on the screen.

Kinda funny when you think about it... your suggesting the ride should be based on something that was based on the ride.

It was a pretty good sized crowd. I wouldn't say packed, but full. I would imagine it will be packed tonight and tomorrow afternoon, especially in Disney Digital 3D. But definitely go see it!

I agree with you in many ways...and the MTR idea might be just the ticket!

It'll be interesting to see if the public embraces or ignores this film. To me it looks bland and forgettable--box office will probably determine whether it (MTR) has a future in DL, other than brief appearances of face characters...

Thanks. I already got the tickets on Fandango, just in case I get to the theatre and it's sold out. That happened to me when I went to see NBC in 3D last year. I am not going to see the 3D version though -- the time it starts at is not the best for me. Plus, the review in today's Los Angeles Times said the 3D is limited to the usual 3D gimmicks -- things popping out at you and stuff -- nothing really impressive. But I may see the 3D version down the road...

In general though, the review was neutral. Either way I am looking forward to it!

I saw it at Midnight at the El Cap and it was not sold out but I heard about 95%. I think if people just go see it they will love it. Everyone that is reviewing it is giving it great marks. It really is a great film and touching at times but most of really funny!
