  • 10 years since the closing of Capt. EO

I'm sad, this was my favorite memory as a kid at DL. They should play it once a year as a tribute.

Well, I must say that Captain EO is MUCH better than HISTA.

Ten years ago? Wow, it seems only yesterday that I was celebrating, stone drunk, during a party I threw in honor of that particular "attraction" closing. And to think...people look at the 90's as a dark period in DL History...
**Plans next party for HISTA closing** How many kegs will I need?

Captain EO was and STILL IS awesome. I watched it EVERY time I went to Disneyland too. It was just a lot of fun.

...and you usually have such good ideas...
EO may just be one of those pesky love it/hate it kinds of attractions. It still stinks, though...on ice...ten years later..

Think how awkward it would have been for Disney with all the MJ spook-show going on now though?

HISTA isn't *that* bad.. maybe it doesn't have great repeat factor.. but which of these movies really does? Even Muppetvision gets stale.

^^^ Actually EO wasnt that bad but yes it woudl have been bad to have it running with all the MJ stuff that is going on now. Although it was a show I never missed when we went to DL, mostly because I had a friend that was one of the dancers so we always went to mock him.

Funny I always thought Michael Peters choreographed EO, just looked it up and he didn't. Guess I learned something new today.

                        A little piece of heaven

Even though Captain EO wasnt the "greatest attraction in the world" it was still fun and had good music and some memorable moments.

HISTA on the other hand does nothing for me and leaves me with a fealing of emptiness when I used to walk out of the theater. It just screams movie tie-in with 3D gimmick and has WAAYYYY outstayed its welcome. If John Lasseter and the Imagineers are any kind of men and women they will cough up the money and replace this tired thing with a new movie or attraction that will be more memorable with audiances.
