  • What happened to California Screamin's purple train?

The last time I saw that train was when it was in the paint shop backstage almost two years ago. The last time I spotted it on the track was after the accident in July of 2005. The orange and purple trains disappeared for quite some time after the ride's accident, but they brought the orange train back a while ago. Do they even have the purple train anymore? Or is it long gone?

Don't know about purple, haven't noticed, but Orange was on the track yesterday. I rode in Green. Was Purple involved in the crash? I don't really remember.

I thought the crash involved the Red and Orange trains...? Why would purple be out of commission?

Maybe someone wants to give a quick rehash of the collision?
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

At the time of the accident, the yellow and one of the green trains were in the loading station. Train red was stopped in the zone immediately behind the station. Orange train was stopped in the main zone behind that which slows you down from the course of the ride. The purple train should have stopped in the brake zone after the bunny hills, but the brakes either didn't hold or they did not activate- I can't remember. The purple continued through that zone rear ending the stopped orange. It was a cascade stop, but the purple train did not stop where it should have. There were a total of five trains on the track and the purple was ending its circuit- hence the only one moving at the time.

I think that zone after the bunny hills is zone 7 (where purple should have stopped), orange was in zone 8, and red was in zone 9. I am not sure, but I think that is the numbering.

Like I said, I saw purple and orange in the paint shop two years ago, but haven't seen purple in the roundhouse or on the track since then.
