    Grad Nite Bands & Mascots

Looking through the "Overnight Stay In Disneyland" thread, I see most people's experiences are of being there during Grad Nite. I know I enjoyed my Grad Nite quite a bit, so I was wondering who were the bands playing at your Grad Nite ... and who was the mascot?

My memory is already failing me, but I attended Grad Nite in 1992. One of my most vivid memories of that night is coming out of IASW and hearing Shanice singing "I Love Your Smile" (I hate that song so much), and I'm not sure if I imagined it but I believe MC Lyte was also playing that night. As for our mascot it was Goofy.

I didnt go to grad nite (long story, totally regret it, didn't go to prom either), but I would love to know what bands played then. It would have been 1989.

My best friend is an English teacher and is going this year with her seniors (went last year too), she has a lot of fun even though I have heard horror stories from others.

    A little piece of heaven

1993 - John Secada and PM Dawn.

As for the mascot ... Not sure about that one.

I don't remember my grad nite all that well. I only remember being one of the first people to play DDR at Starcade, thus drawing a crowd and attention. To me, it was almost a complete waste of money since I didn't get to do as much as I wanted. I was going again later that summer with my MidWest friends anyway.

I don't remember anything special from 2002 grad nite. I do remember there were no fast passes, long lines to popular attractions, no lines for dark rides, etc.

And there was no tram service back to the Mickey and Friends parking lot, so when it was done, we all had to walk back! x.x

PM Dawn ... I wonder what happened to them ... I really liked the sound of their music.

1989, new kids on the block and Suzanne summers singing on the stage on the ROA. There where a bunch of other lesser known bands, I have all of the flyers they handed out as well as my pictures in storage.

Grad nite for me was 1979. Papa Do Run Run was the band. They were Beach Boy wannabe's. And our mascot was Winnie the Pooh. I still have my Gradnite picture. Back then we had to dress in semi-formal attire. I'll never forget that night because my feet were killing me and it was really cold that night early morning hours.

I can't recall any special performers. I remember lots of spaces set for all night clubbin'...kinda like the old Videopolis.

Thanks for sharing these everyone! I guess another question would be for those that have gone in the last few years if you still have to dress up.

When I went in '92 we had to dress up. No jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes ... stuff like that. I remember seeing some girls dressed up as if they were going to Prom! And I also remember the walk back to the bus ... and having to search for our yellow school bus among the millions of similar looking buses there.

Hahaha, me too ('97 here). I do remember KROQ playing on the Mark Twain, music and club lighting coming off the Omnibus and a HUGE line for Space Mtn. I remember having to dress up, I don't remember doing a whole lot since it was so crowded!

I graduated in 1971. At my grad nite it was Smokey Robinson, Linda Ronstad. I know there was someone else who performed, but I don't remember who it was. I think I still have the pamphlet from my Grad Nite. I'll have to look through my yearbook. I think that's where it is. I don't remember who the mascot was.
