  • How are the crowds in October???

I may be planning a trip in October, so how are the crowds???

Re: How are the crowds in October???

Gay days weekend, which I think is the first weekend in October will be very busy. Last year they did the Choc Walk the same weekend and it was insane (I was there). I don't know if the Choc Walk is scheduled for the same weekend this year or not. Anyone else know??

Once they have the Halloween stuff up, if they do the same type of promo's as last year Friday and Saturdays will continue to be very busy, but weekdays should be pretty quiet.

The weather is usually fantastic! Warm during the day and just slightly cool at night! October is a beautiful time to go!

Wow CHOC walk and the LA AIDS Walk are on the same weekend this year.

And the MiceChat WDW Invasion II also starts that weekend. Crazy.

Anyway, last October was pretty darn nuts during the weekends because of teh Halloween promotion.

What types of chocolate do they have available for sampling on this walk?

We went the first weekend last year, and it was nuts. First, the LA and OC schools were off that Monday for Yom Kippur, then AZ schools were out that week for fall break and Utah schools were out for teacher training as well. I would avoid the first week of Oct.

Yeah, we have been going down during the second week of October for quite a few years now.

Great weather and not bad crowds.

                    Do it!

October is a wonderful time in Disneyland. I usually go during the second week, tues=light crowds, wed=light crowds, thurs= low to medium crowd. The promotion seems to bring more people during the week too though as each succeeding year seems a bit more visited than the year before. Still, wait times were really low as we didn't wait more than 10 minutes on the busiest rides. The weather rocks, the decorations are fun, Haunted Mansion has the Nightmare Before christmas overlay. . . . life is good. Go!

Re: How are the crowds in October???

My whole extended clan of 18 went for a long Columbus Day weekend in 2005. Stayed at the GCH and found better than anticipated crowds. In fact the hotel was at 105% of occupancy, according to folks at the front desk. Now that had to be embarassing at some point...

We found crowds around the park were busy but not overcrowded. Popular attractions that you would expect a wait for had waits of the usual times. And with good weather, lots of people stayed for Fantasmic, parades and fireworks. All around the Hub, packed tight.

If I were planning to go again in October, I would probably look at the third week/weekend of the month. Might be quieter than the first two and avoids the full Halloween crowds.

Re: How are the crowds in October???

This year, all of the Utah public schools are closed Oct 29 & 30 for the teachers' meetings.

BTW, for those that care, a law as been pasted in Utah. We are no longer allowed to call it UEA (Utah Educators Association) Weekend. It is now "Fall Recess". Same thing, new name.

My family liked to go to DL in early Nov. The Christmas lights are up and early Nov, it is pretty uncrowded.

AZ schools (in my area) are out the second week of Oct. for fall break.

We went last Oct. (12-15) and it was great. The weekdays were much better than Saturday. Saturday was kinda crowded bit still tolerable. The weather was great though.
