I'm for the No-Fly zone being lifted if terrorists can strike when Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus are there for promotions.

    And only hit them.

Does that give them a reason to be hit by terrorists? I think not.

Well, there could end up being damage to Disneyland... so I see your point.

I've never been to DL and have a plain fly overhead...And I've been there many times but it could be just a coincidence.

I saw a few choppers fly-by last week. It seemed they were flying on the outskirts of the park but not directly over the park itself. I saw the news coverage about the no-fly zone on the news down there as well.

It'll make for a lot longer lines at the men's restrooms.

                          Oh, wait, nevermind.

I can't get the video to work either. I thought the No-Fly zone used to be over Disneyland, but it is no longer a restricted area. Is this still the case?

there is a minimum altitude.. that's it. there is a recent thread on this topic when it came to a local news station trying to run a story on the topic.

I don't think he/she really thinks Hannah Montanna should be killed. It's hyperbole to make a point about how bad and phony they are to that person.

I'm not really into Hannah Montanna and if I was I'd probably be breaking several laws or something.

There is no point for a no-fly zone when it comes to terrorists. Terrorists wanting to do something drastic wouldn't pay attention to any no-fly zones....

I do believe Disneyland did have a restriction on the airspace above because of maybe the disruptive sound from jet engines or to protect planes from pyrotechnics. I have no idea why it was removed though...

Disney has protection, in the form of a no-fly zone, that no other terror target in California has. "And that includes LAX."

No kiddin' Sherlock, they let airplanes fly around LAX.

Wow, now that was off topic, or directed at the OP in a very mean spirited way. As for the No-Fly zone, isn't more of a flight restriction? And I agree, with a three mile radius there would be no time to stop a terrorist that was hell bent on crashing a plane. This does seem more as a political move somewhere to protect Disney from an onslaught of airborn advertising and sight seeing.

As for nuclear power plants, I was concerned about this one. I live in the Phoenix area and we have the Palo Verde nuclear plant just outside the metro area. The Palo Verde station is the largest nuclear plant in the US, which is why I was concerned. My brother works for the DOE (Department of Energy) in DC and I asked him, right after 9/11, about the threat of crashing a plane into a plant. He said that wouldn't be a problem. There are other threats to a plant, but a plane crashing into one would probably pose little danger. I'll take his word, heck, he was willing to sit through years of "exciting" engineering classes to get his Ph.D.

Where's Frogberto with his map!! There is a NOTAM for the area, you have to be above 3000' above the area around Disneyland unless you have ATC approval to be lower. Looking at Flightaware, there are 2 planes at differing altitudes over Disneyland now. And its not a "no fly zone". It would be interesting if LAX was a no fly zone, how would they get all those planes to land there???
