  • Fantasmic Alternate Ending!

    OMG!

Sorry, I'm just so excited! Tonight, around 10:20pm, there was an announcement that Fantasmic! was delayed. Anywho, the show didn't start until 10:50pm.

First of all, TicToc, (that is his name, right?), and the Mark Twain were nowhere to be seen! That meant that all the characters, minus Willie and Ariel, were on the island! It was really cute but so anti-climactic.

Anywho, I just HAD to tell someone from MiceChat!

    Thanks!
Took mom to Disneyland for the first time in over 20 years this week! Woo!

I remember hearing that the Mark Twain went down this afternoon, not sure why though.

That was half the reason. Other half was that guests were sticking to the drying paint.

Rescue workers worked quickly to free the 195 trapped guests aboard the Twain.

No one was seriously injured but about 25 people were treated on scene for being "high on paint fumes"

How come Belle never danced on her barge last night with the Beast? She sat during that whole Princess segment and only moved her arms up and down, while the Beast did his thing.

          Very odd, indeed.

Probably a temperary replacement Belle. The real one was probably sick or took the day off.

I have seen the alternate ending a few times and I really really dont like it

There is nothing like seeing Steamboat Willy "driving" the Mark Twain

I don't think they'd approve belle to do something like that... Even a 'replacement' one.

I'm thinking this was a wardrobe malfunction.

It's possible that she has a minor injury and can't dance. I have a copy of a musical and one actor is seen in the premiere version dancing in more numbers and doing flips and stuff, but in the revision that came a couple months later, he's noticeably less active (not a single flip or jump and minimal dancing). Even the shoes he wore didn't look like shoes someone would wear in a stage production (that show didn't use understudies).

As for Disneyland's Fantasmic, there is a huge impact in seeing the Mark Twain in the finale. It's the only ending I've ever seen and it really has an effect on the crowd (especially since a lot of us grew up with trips to Disneyland pre-Fantasmic).

                        Re: Fantasmic Alternate Ending!

Well, I doubt that it was because Belle had "requested the day off." She may have gone MIA - Alice from PoD went MIA last summer, so they had to take face characters who romp around the park and throw them in the parade, but they didn't give them a microphone because they didn't know the dialogue.

Sounds like it was quite the night at Fantasmic! I was considering seeing it last night, but instead I went to see the EP and "Ratatouille" at DTD. I'm pretty sure I would've been disappointed if F! ended up like that when I was there...

There I was somewhere West of Tomorrowland
Flying through the stars just like
                        Peter Pan
I said...Dang this looks too good to be true...

It's a nice day when you wake up in
                        Disneyland...

                              Re: Fantasmic Alternate Ending!

These three things all at once are odd.

You could say that Belle hurt herself at the end of the first show, and with only an hour inbetween, that doesn't leave enough time to find her understudy. And maybe she hurt herself on the Mark Twain. So they took the Twain down to fix it. But that doesn't explain the crocodile.

Maybe the track that the croc and the the Twain are on wasn't working. But then why did the Columbia go around? And that doesn't explain Belle.

All three of those things together sounds like an interesting coincidence as it's hard to find one issue to explain all three.

Or, as my husband said, the croc ran into the Mark Twain, and Belle went overboard injuring herself. He thinks he's a genius.
