  • Tomorrow land skyway station

Okay i was at the park tonight and saw the old skyway station in fantasyland and that got me wondering. Where is the old station in tomorrowland? I don't remember where it was. Does the structure still exist? If not what area was it located in?

It's sort of attached to the Carousel building. It's above the old Hatmosphere. I don't even know how to describe where it is because so much has changed in that area.

Here's an old picture I found on Google Image Search. This looks like it was before the Carousel building. Either way it's over by the Tomorrowland train station.

Yes, it was kind of attached to the back of the Carousel building. They pretty much walled up where the openings were and planted huge trees in front to where you can't tell the Skyway station was even there. I think it's good they left the Fantasyland station in tact. It seems like they even do some regular maintenance and painting up there as it rarely looks all the bad. At least from what you can see from down below.

If you go up to the second level of Innoventions and walk over to the Autopia side, look down and you will see a series of mod stairs to nowhere alongside the Carousel building and behind the former Hatmosphere building. The stairs were the entrance/queue to Tomorrowland's Skyway station, which loaded directly alongside the second level of the Carousel. The loading platform and canopy itself was removed, but you can see where the buckets were stored in the building directly behind that.

Not sure what shape the Fantasyland one is in... wish they would use it for something, prime real estate up there.

Hey maybe they should put a Snow White suite up there or something instead of Cinderella at the Disney Gallery!

Just as MerlinJones said, look for the stairway to nowhere. The platform has long been stripped away. The part of Innoventions that's next to it was once the storage area. No clue what's in that part now, but I remember one time during the Skyway's operating days, riding the DDR and while at the TL station, I could kind of see the extra buckets that weren't on the line. I don't think that was a solid wall at the time. It's funny how old the pic SpokkerJones used. Not only does it predate TL '67 (no Carousel building), it actually predates the '59 expansion (no Monorail station/Submarine queue is visible).

The Skyway station became the maitance bay for the Rocket Rods in 1998. The station was torn down right after the skyway closed. I hope this helps

No, the Monorail, Submarine Voyage, and obviousely the Matterhorn are all there. If you look closely, you can see a bit of the blue Monorail at the station.

This is where I'm sure it was. The Hatmosphere was right below it and this shot is right behind that store.

Whoops. The photo is a little grainy, but yeah, the Matterhorn is the big give away that it's post '59! The Matterhorn...that great, big MOUNTAIN in the photo...
