  • Three doors on Indy

I've been going to Disneyland as much as i can before i leave to NY for college in september. Now the majority of the times i went on Indy I went through the middle door (Earthly Riches) and I am tired of seeing the same thing! how can I go through the other two doors? I was thinking that if i switched sides where we get into the cars will change but I dont know! someone help me here, I dont want earthy riches anymore!

I know it's "random," but when I've chosen the left side over the right side in the queue line I seem to go through a different door. It's worth a shot!

You have equal chances of getting either one of the 3 doors, regardless of which side you are loaded onto a transport vehicle. I believe you can ask the CM to place you in the vehicle of your choice. The order of the doors goes "Left, Left, Middle, Right, Right, Middle".

The door rotates each time, but the variables favor the center door. For example, say the first vehicle starts at the middle door. The next one may go left. And then the following will go center again. And then finally right. So basically, the center door happens every other time, where the left and right doors happen every 4th time.

            Did I get that right?

The order was like that when the attraction first opened, but it was changed to give riders an equal chance of experiencing all 3 doors.

Technically its all one door. If you look very closely as you enter that room, the other two tracks that lead to the seperate doors are actually painted on the floor. The room itself rotates somewhere from 45 to 90 degrees and moves the doors in front of you.

Once you then enter the door corresponding to that theme, the lighting, special effects and dialogue only change slightly but the same room every time.

Aha! that explains why I ALWAYS got the center and then at some point I was able to see the other ones more often. It also saves energy on their part to decrease the wear and tear on the door changing.

I usually get "Next time, you're on your own" but last time I got another response, like not bad or something positive that I can't remember.

Funny about everyone saying they get the center door. When I went on it in July, I only got the center door once. The rest of the time I got the right door.

No there are three doors and two other fake ones that never work, one on each side. The walls rotate.

Next time you go on the ride, if the effect is working after you enter through the doors, you'll hear the wall rotate.

There are 5 "doors". Only the middle one is the real one. The 2 fake doors on either side allow the room to make the real one the right, center or left door.

But, yes, next time you go, listen for what sounds like some chain being pulled over a pulley. That is the walls moving. And those things move at a rather good clip too...

Cast Members working the attraction cannot predict which door you'll be getting (too busy to even do so, especially at Grouper) so I probably wouldn't ask.

Most of the time (I haven't really paid too much attention to it) but they stopped doing the whole "left, left, middle, right, right, middle" and went back to "left, middle, right, middle, left" like it was originally.

I'll try to pay more attention to it tomorrow.
