  • New Toy Story models in Animation Bldg

In the Character section in the Animation Building in, of course, DCA is a great little spinner of models that, when used with strobe lights gives a little 'show' with most of it's characters like Buzz running on a ball, the Little Green Men walking around and the Army Men parachuting out of a bucket. It's a cool little piece but because of the intensity of the strobe lights, I'm afraid that it's going to cause a lot of seizures and a lot of sickness. Maseca and I watched it last night and it took me at least an hour to get over nausea from just that show and so did he. I hope this makes sense.

Anybody else seen it? I know Dan-tasmic has cause he has pictures of it.

How funny, I saw that in the MOMA in NYC for a Pixar exposition a little while back. That thing was crazy awesome, I wish I was out there so I could see it again. I'm happy to see that it's ended up in a Disney park!

when i saw it this weekend, it appeared to be on a timer. the lights in the room dim, it starts to spin faster and faster, and then the strobe comes on. it goes for quite a while, then the strobe goes off, it slows down, and the room lights come back up so you can look at the displays. then less than 5 minutes later it starts over again.

i actually really liked it, but then again, i've never had a problem with strobes or spinning of any kind.
