  • Lunching Pad / Radio Disney

This isn't exactly a dire question when everyone's so hyped up about the 50th events, but I thought I'd ask it.

The former Lunching Pad / Radio Disney booth below the Rocket Rods platform, last I heard, was becoming an AP booth or something. Did this really happen? If not, what did/what will happen? I wish it'd just go back to serving food and drinks.

Today, it was being used as a media hub. But otherwise, nothing has been done with it.

I think it'd be nice to have food there...Radio Disney was a pretty lame idea...

There's enough restaurants in Tomorrowland. Plus, there isn't anybody to man them. Remember the foods situation right now. Club Buzz is in fact the second largest quick service restaurant in the western hemisphere. It doesn't need food, they ahve cool Tomorrowland exclusive ODV carts in Tomorrowland.

Well...your point makes sense. Maybe they could just have quick, futuristically named refreshements at the Lunching Pad place.

Well, remember that they have the Spirit of Refreshment, sponsored by Coca Cola, which features the "futuristic" technology of shooting the bottle of Coke into the CM's hands.

Disappointingly, in the world of tomorrow, I think there will only be Coke.

Anyone else remember when they used to serve Twinkies there? I'm serious!

I thought they didn't do the shooting Coke thing anymore under the Moonliner? I heard they had the cart still but just hand out the cokes regular?

I don't know. I don't buy drinks in the park if I can help it. Too overpriced. I'll either bring my own or buy one backstage before I go in as a guest.

When we were there in May, I bought a Coke there and the cast member just handed it to me. Would have loved to see the launch!

Yeah. I have a feeling they just hand you the cokes now. That's boring!

                          but here's the deal

they could easily consolidate several ODV carts into the building thus clearing up walkspace in Tomorrowland

or they could turn it into a neat little resturant thing or whatever it was before with a unique menu and then close down Rocket Redds which is after all in a building that was origionaly a ride :P

Redd Rocket's is way too successful and one of the larger people-eating restaurants in the park. Few restaurants get people in and out much faster, and that says something. Even with a line out the door, it moves pretty quick. Hungry Bear and Club Buzz, while big, I find, are SLOW.

Melmel... you may have a better insight on this than most. I remember when it was the Coca Cola Terrace that one could get a really, really good burger there... and fairly quick. Maybe there were just fewer guests back then. Lately, Club Buzz seems rather slow and doesn't seem to be open a lot. Is it a mainly a staffing situation that causes this or something else? Most fast food joints we visit outside the park can get you a burger pretty quick. Has Disney fallen behind the curve somewhere? I don't know anything about food service or preperation, but as a guest, it does seem puzzling that Burger King can hand my food to me in a couple of minutes but often the Disneyland "fast food" counters can take two or three times that long. This isn't a complaint. It's just a question.
