  • DCA is 7 years old today

I was a little shocked to see that no one had mentioned this yet.....

But the DCA is 7 years old today. (February 8th)

    Wow, I forgot!

Best memory for me are when they used to have the Daytime and Primetime stars on weekends. That was a lot of fun seeing the celebs.

Worst memory has to be the AP preview before DCA officially opened.

Best memory I guess if when I rode ToT the first time....

      Worst memory?

Even though I disagree with the theme of the park..... I still think its a fun place to go....I dont have a Bad Memory.

It's like putting smaller star next to our sun.... It's a bright place.... But next to the Sun (Disneyland) it just pales in comparison...

It really is a quality place.

Getting over my fear of drop rides and going on Tower for the first time, and getting over my fear of coasters and going on Screamin' for the first time. Best DCA memories yet.

OH! And meeting Hercules for the first time. My friend offered to make him cookies....he's yummy!

I don't really have bad memories...and if I do I block from the "I love Disneyland" part of my brain.

            Hmmmm... Honestly?

Worst Memory -- Finding out that my brand new digital camera which I had bought for our trip and had taken about 150 pictures, including some really great ones, ate all of the pictures on the memory card by itself. The next day, the camera would totally die. Luckily, Best Buy was great about replacing it, but they obviously couldn't get those pictures back.

Best Memory -- Knowing that our group tickets were Park Hopper tickets, so we only had to spend minimal time there.

I'll be honest -- I love Disneyland as a park, but California Adventure has fallen totally flat to me. I don't like the 'revised' version of Tower of Terror at all, the carny rides do nothing for me, California Screamin' was down the day that I was there but didn't look spectacular, Bugs Land was cute but I don't have kids, I've already seen the Muppets before, and I just don't get the appeal of Soarin' at all. My wife and I agreed that the best part of DCA was easily the tortilla factory because it was the only place in a Disney park where you could get free food. In fact, the Tortilla factory is the only thing that kept it from being my least favorite park ever.

Until major *major* changes occur, I don't care to ever return (Toy Story Mania is not enough to entice me at all, nor Monsters, nor just about any other proposed addition right now) -- not when I could just spend the day at Disneyland instead.

              Happy Bday DCA.

I won't bring up bad things on a birthday so I fondly remember the opening weekend and my first ride on TOT. I was so happy the TOT was different from the Florida version.

Best memory: Celebrating NYE with MC'ers 2007

Worst memory: AP Preview day, it sucked. The coaster was not running most of the day we were there, it was crowded, yucky rides, and worst of all - waiting 1+ hour for Superstar Limo.

My best memory of DCA is undoubtedly the return of Disney's Electrical Parade in 2001 and it couldn't have come at a worst time of my life. My partner passed away days before and I was not up to par emotionally so I just had to see this again in memory of him.

The worst memory of DCA would be......the short lived Steps In Time Show and Superstar Limo.

Oh yeah, another bad memory for me was when they closed down the Soap Opera Bistro. I never got to eat in there but at least I can say I walked around the areas once before they closed it.

I remember the cold, dark preview night, the shock of experiencing that initial Hyperion showbiz show, Superstar Limo and the uncut version of Golden Dreams - - then seeing Michael Eisner escorting Art Linkletter around this deserted, hapzarardly designed, ill concieved park as if he were Walt and wondering just what Art must have been thinking...

Best Memory: when it used to be a parking lot.
Worst Memory: that's it's not a parking lot.
