      Do you mean like an Epcoot World Showcase-style ferry? Probably because the lagoon and the walk around the lagoon just isn't big enough to justify a ferry running people across all day. It would probably create long lines for a very short trip across the lagoon, not to mention the cost! you know things arent allowed to happen with budgets and spreadsheets planning out amusement parks! :ap:

      Also, the lagoon might have just not been dug deep enough and is too shallow for a ferry to be running through

        They should put in some individual paddle boats people could rent for 15-30 minutes at a time. I see those things at the beach or park lakes all the time. It would add some kinetics to that area as well as another attraction option. Besides, those things are fun to paddle around in with a friend.

          Why is there no boat ride in DCA at all?

          How about cleaning up the lake, and putting in the "Duck Bumps" attraction once thought up for DL?

          Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

              It does need something, doesn't it? Just not sure what - paddleboats may work. How about some type of Epcot Illuminations show - granted the "buildings" may not lend themselves to lighting like at Epcot, and the rides would be in the way; on second thought maybe that isn't such a good idea.....especially since there are too many shows and not enough attractions already.

                I like it empty. It's supposed to be like a Southern California pier, and there aren't any boats that close to a pier...

                  empty = boring

                  Perhaps this is one of the fatal flaws of DCA. I understand your point, but perhaps a compromise could be reached and the paddleboats could be snuggled into an area of the water that makes sense. 'Empty' doesn't however seem like a Disney value.

                    Well if its to be true to life then every California pier has hundreds of people fishing off them... oh wait there is another tie in for Finding Nemo.

                      The Boardwalk in Santa Cruz has a nice "Chair Lift" that runs from one end of the Boardwalk to the other. In fact this type of attraction is common at several boardwalks along east coast. How about a boardwalk-style chair lift that traverses the lake? Start it near "Screamin" and end it near the "Golden Zepher."

                      They use a chair lift at Blizzard Beach in WDW, why not a boardwalk version at DCA?

                        I think it would be nice just to see some movement.
                        Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

                          I don't think the lake is big enough for a attraction. Although the paddleboat idea might work. But, Please :beg: do not make me have to pay to ride a boat around the pier.

                            They need to get that wave ball going again. This way it feels like being at the beach. As is, the area much like the rest of the park has no energy

                              But you have to remember that Paradise Pier is on the west coast not the east coast.
