  • [Pictures] HKDL Source's Chief Spy Update and Construction Photos

Our Chief Spy took advantage of a break in the recently turbulent weather in Hong Kong and took a trip over to the park we love to love. She gives us a peek at what is happening with the Adventureland construction, as well as sharing the fun of her day. We also plug our new galleries, including one dedicated to the Chief Spy!

Plenty more photos where they came from. If you want them, you know what to do...

ORDDU: Once again, we have another fine trip report from our dear Katsmom. What would we do without her?

ORWEN: The thing that got ME was how much the price of food has gone up!!! I can't believe an ice cream cone costs $28 dollars!!! That's just wrong!! I mean, I'd end up starving to death over there!!

          ORGOCH: In a bat's butt!!

It took me by surprise too. This is the first time we've gone to disney since they've brought in ice-cream cones and didn't by one. It was a very sad day for us.

We are talking about HK Dollars right? 28 USD for a serving of ice cream would be insane! (current exchange rate is 1 USD = 7.79 HKD.

Thanks very much for the update, Katsmom and Loomis. It's good to see the construction moving along. As to what they're planning though, that still needs answering.

Also, I agree that the pricing really is too high, much more than I remember from back during my trip. If I remember correctly, the bottled water sold in the park cost like 16 Hong Kong Dollars, which is like three times the amount you can get the same bottle from any other store from outside the park. But really, 28 HKD for an ice cream cone? That's too much for me, it better be really good ice cream.

Is the ice cream single scoop or double scoop? $28hkd=$3.50usd. With that price that is a double scoop ice cream in the US.

ORWEN: Forget about the price of gas, then!! At this rate, the really IMPORTANT things in Life will soon be too expensive to buy!!! I mean, soon ice cream will be $8.00 a scoop!!! No witch on EARTH can afford a hot fudge sundae with prices like that!!!

Single scoop! US$3.57 for one scoop of icecream in a on site made waffle cone. It's a bit too pricy for me.

                          great update.

looks like they are doing some infrustructure for the rumored expansion. If they are keeping consistant to some of the original plans that corner of the park will expand passed the train tracks and out of the main berm just like IASW.

I'm thinking they are going ahead and doing some of the work to get ahead of the game when they finally get approvals from the governement to go ahead with the expansion

Hey Katsmom, if you have time would it be possible for you to record prices for other food items found in both parks so we can compare them? e.g. Hamburger, soft drinks, coffee......
