  • Trip Report Teppan Edo; Winter Summerland and Epcot! - 07/18/09

My daughter and I went over to WDW for the day. She wanted to visit a park and play some miniature golf so we opted for Epcot and WinterSummerland mini golf next to Blizzard Beach.

Should you wish to see all the photos I took that day, please visit here.

I have never played any of the courses available at WDW, so this was an added treat for me as well.

    The fun begins!

According to our scorecard, here is the official story behind this location.

On a moonlit Christmas Eve, Santa Claus discovered the perfect vacation spot for himself, Mrs. Claus and the elves. Everything was perfect. From towerinig palms and sandy beaches to majestic sandcastles and powdery snow....SNOW! In Florida?

Yes, the myth about Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park was real, and that gave Santa a wonderful idea. Snow and sun! What a great combination for a vacation!

In no time at all, Santa and Mrs. Claus moved their trailer down and built a barn for the reindeer and a toyshop. The elves, somewhat split over whether to build a snow and sand miniature golf course, built both. The Snow course was just like bing at home. And the Sand course was...er...well, it was Florida. They built the best of both worlds and called it their Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course.

Some holes were interactive and had great introductions posted before each hole.

Down the middle gives you a special surprise.

    Cookies! Plastic even!

I love some of the details around the course, it would be easy to look past them but you can definitely appreciate the attention to detail here.

I had the hardest time with this one. LOL

    Squirty the Snowman

Mickey in the box? Somehow doesn't sound the same. LOL

It ends with a special message from Santa.

    On to Epcot!

The monorails were working, I wasn't expecting to feel sadness looking at them. Unfortunately, given the most recent events, its hard to look at them any other way.

Our first stop was Innoventions where we learned about recycling and played some fun games.

You can email yourself a nifty certificate when you finish.

We headed over to Test Track to pick up a FP for later. The crowd levels weren't bad, maybe a 5 out of 10. As they were listed as a 9/10 online, we were pleasantly surprised.

As we had picked up a Kim Possible FP, we headed over to World Showcase where we stopped to eat some ice cream as it was just so darn hot that day.

It wasn't too bad in the shade.

Some of the flowers were still in full bloom, it was very pretty.

Our first mission was in Japan, the quests were a lot of fun and we enjoyed them very much.

My daughter had never had Japanese food before so she asked if we could eat at Teppan Edo, I had no problem telling her yes!

I hadn't eaten there since the refurb, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the new decor was really great!

    The food was excellent. Mmm..

    A very happy patron!

A brief stop to see if Jasmine was out (oldest fav princess), no such luck.

Onto France for the next mission. Bonjour!

Over to the UK for the last one.

Mission Clue. Where do we go next? Get it?

"Danger is my cup of tea"

Onto the Imagination Pavilion where Anna had a little fun.

    Willy Wonka?

    Living with the Land

    Nemo!

Headed back to Test Track and got in line just as an annoucement went up that Test Track was closed due to technical difficulties.

    Everyone Out!

So we opted for Mission: Toupee, I mean Space!

I went with Green, Anna for Orange. I haven't gotten the courage up for Orange yet. LOL

Luckily Test Track reopened and we grabbed a ride with 10 minutes to spare to close. Perfect ending to a very long, but fun day.

    Ahhhhhhhhh!

    The End

Is the Kim Possible activity a separate cost as well? Looks like fun.

Nope, Kim Possible is FREE! They have 5 or 6? different countries with quests in them. Each country has mini quests within it and then it asks you if you want to do another country, then you pick what ever you like. When you are finished, you drop the phone off at an "undisclosed" location (drop box) in whatever country you happen to do the last quest in.
