The WDW Christmas Parade was a very good showcase of what the Disney parks have to offer nowadays.

I watched the parade last night with a fellow CM after work. It was even more fun for her because she had the opportunity to be there during the filming. It was interesting to watch with her because she let me in on all of the funny little secrets and things you don't see on the broadcast. So we watched the show, and afterward talked about what we liked and didn't like.

I personally liked a few different segments...
        1. Brian Setzer Orchestra's introduction
        2. The Disneyland Space Mountain segment
        3. The really, really, neat footage of Expedition Everest
        4. The vintage footage of Disneyland during Christmas
        5. The Festival of the Lion King performance

Some of the ones I didn't like...
        1. Tiger Woods at Soarin'
        2. The last couple of singers, I really didn't think they were that good

And the one I completely, absolutely despise and loathe entirely...
Butthole Bush and his Woman's message, what a load o' S*#@!

Other than that one dark moment, I would say it was overall a good show!

When I came home from church, I just realized that I forgot to tape it. I saw the last 5 minutes, but that's it. I really hope VF (or somebody else) has it online.

It was dull, IMO. Much more interesting was find the 2-hour Modern Marvels episode that aired on the History Channel later last night. Lots of backstage footage and WDI interviews.

I totally agree. I thought the "parade" was quite boring. I wanted to see a parade, not a bunch of B and C list celebrities I've never heard of. Every time the "entertainment" came on, I would mute the TV or change the channel for a few minutes.

I was lucky enough to turn it on right when they showed the video footage. Really a lot of neat stuff, including the gnarled track at the top of the mountain, and the descnet backwards. They also showed a little of the load area and queue, which looks amazing. They did quickly show some Yeti footage, but there is a large question as to whether what they showed was acutally the Yeti used in the attraction, or some other source, as the picture was very dark and distorted, so you could not get a clear image. On WDWMagic there is a board currently discussing the Yeti, which includes image captures, and I believe the video segment. I'll see if I can find the link.

it wasn't that great. it did start late cause of the game but our satellite aired it from the beginning so we didn't miss any of it. Didn't care for the parts where they showed Paris, Hong Kong or Tokyo. Or the Cinderella show. Would have liked more Disneyland since it is their anniversary and Ryan was dumb but I have never liked him anyways.

I thought this year's was one of the best in a long time. A lot of disneyland was shown, and the clips of stuff at the international parks was great. gives american audiences at least a clue that there is disney in all different forms out there. the parade of dreams segment was awesome, and the flow of the show was overall really good. the celebrities are usually always a bore, and Ryan seacrest talking during all the disneyland portions...well, that's probably the one thing i couldn't stand. can't that man ever shut up?

ok maybe its just me but I wanted a PARADE!!! not a two hour commercial with music. When regis and joan Lundon used to do it, they at least made you feel like you were seeing it live. not some rehearsed crap. what disney should have done was create a 1 hour wdw parade with songs during the parade. they actually did that one year and it was ausome and they had real people there not cms. THen they could fill in the other hour with taped stuff on the new happenings or go "live" to disneyland for their parade. As for everest, it looks great but I hate raven, and ryan seacrest and kelly ripa need reading lessons, they were both way too stiff.
                            just my opinion

I have a question for everyone....why do you guys hate Raven so much? She's a good person for kids to look up to (unlike other 'girls' like Britney, etc), she has a very popular TV show on the Disney Channel & unlike previous DC stars (:cough:Hilary:cough: ) she is not the type to quiver over her contract. So why all the hating?
