Happy birthday, EPCOT. It's still my favorite Disney theme park, and it's still great. It will get even greater, still.

Easily the most unique out of all of Disney's parks, even to this very day.

          Happy 30th, Epcot!

I agree... they couldn't even have Test Track finished on time for it's birthday...

True, but you they can't claim it 'snuck up on them', just like Disneyland 50 they knew it was coming. Speaks volumes about the management at TDO really.

Anyway.... happy 30th EPCOT - you've changed no end in the three decades but you're still a great park.

Happy 30th to the Walt Disney Company's last big risk, the boldest and most unique theme park on earth.

I'd rather have Test Track done right than done in time for an arbitrary date. Based on the Illusioneering presentation by Daniel Joseph at the D23 Epcot 30 event on 9/30, I'm cautiously optimistic that they'll get this one right. Daniel seems to really care/"get it" and made the point that they're trying to restore optimism and an inspiring vision of the future with the new Test Track. We'll see...
I knew if this business was ever to get anywhere, if this business was ever to grow, it could never do it by having to answer to someone unsympathetic to its possibilities, by having to answer to someone with only one thought or interest, namely profits. For my idea of how to make profits has differed greatly from those who generally control businesses such as ours. I have blind faith in the policy that quality, tempered with good judgment and showmanship, will win against all odds.

Happy late 30th EPCOT! I wish I could say that you have only improved with age, but apart from the addition of Norway none of your quality additions have survived the corporate destruction and lack of vision that TDO has exhumed the last 10 years. May TDO finally see that a park so unique and so inspiring needs a unique vision that differs from the vision used by modern day Disney.

                              Team Disney:
I must agree with this sentiment. When Vice president of EPCOT named Erin took the stage during the obligatory ceremony at the American Garden stage, she reminded everyone she loves EPCOT because there is "always something new to do". Really? She must be talking about the Tokyo Disney Resort parks. Then she added.."there's something new to do, like the SEVENTEENTH annual Wine/Food festival".. OUCH OUCH!!!

How sad this is...in a resort that had such memorable anniversary celebrations like the Tencennial.. the 20th, and even the 25th (pink castle, memorable for the wrong reasons..), now? they delegate these anniversaries to just a day event with presentations geared to just the fanatic fans like the D23 bunch and some nice merchandise. No new attractions, no new parades or shows, no decor.. It's as cheap as it gets. So much for the respect to traditions that had made the Disney park unique among the rest. If these parks were my rice and beans every afternoon, I certainly would go out of my way to make sure they are celebrated in a proper way. But that's just my feelings about something near and dear.
Another speaker in that same ceremony asked if Walt would be proud of EPCOT today... I think not. Disney World and EPCOT in particular would have turned out much differently than just the money making operation is it today.

So yes, happy belated anniversary to EPCOT... I just hope the future management teams running Disney World give this park (and the others) the treatment, budgets, and respect they deserve.
