  • [Question] Working as Ariel

Soo my dream, like many girls, is to be a disney princess! I'm about 5'6", pale, some freckles (that can be covered up with makeup), red hair and hazel green eyes. I think that I would be able to play Ariel, but would they pick a girl for Ariel that has green eyes instead of blue?? If I couldn't be Ariel what else could I be?

Actually, I don't see any of these choices working for Ariel.

No matter where you go, there you are.

I had a client come to see me in the day job with these coloured contacts. His were pure white. They rather freaked me out.

As stated above, you can always get contacts. I don't know if they pay that much attention to little details like that when casting anyway. It probably has more to do with voice, performance, personality. Even though your hair is red they would probably make you wear a wig anyway because it's way easier to get it to hold the style, but since your complexion makes the red hair more believable, it might give you an advantage. From what I can tell from this helpful link you're about the right height for Ariel too so you should totally go for it. Someone has to get the part and it might as well be you, right?

If for some crazy reason the eye thing really is a hang up for them, I think Rapunzel has green eyes and freckles. She also definitely requires a wig so your red-headedness shouldn't be an issue.
It bothers me when people selectively edit quotes to support whatever point they are trying to prove.
