    [Question] DWRR Grade Crossing

While browsing Google Maps, I noticed the Disney World Railroad crosses a street before entering the parks. Furthermore, it seemed that the area the grade crossing could be easily accessed, since I did not notice on Google any security stations leading to the backstage. Can the public get to this area? Has anybody taken a picture of the trains as they crossed the street to enter the parks?

I think I know what you are talking about. It's where the tracks lead in and out of the "round house"? I have no pictures but you can drive through that area.

Yeah that is the area I was thinking of. It would be pretty neat to see it while the trains are leaving the roundhouse.

Yes, it is possible to drive back there. If you'd really like to see the trains heading into the park you could also take the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour and you'll ride back there on one of the trains.

You can drive back there, but I'm not sure how thrilled they would be if you just start taking pictures. I'm surprised that most people don't venture back there by car.

Yes it does and that section of the property is in pubic although there are plenty of sign encouraging you from going up there. Also guess what Bing Street view caught a train as it was being put on the line. Bing Maps - Driving Directions, Traffic and Road Conditions

You can drive back there, but honestly it is really boring and just warehouse spaces

That Bing Street View is rather interesting. I get a kick out of seeing the fantastic looking DWRR train surrounded by "the real world."

Also I need to look into the Behind the Steam tour if I am ever in Disney World again, sounds neat.
