You know, I really love the Wilderness Lodge. The entire motif is incredible. That huge lobby with the beautiful woodwork decorations. I adore the little brook that starts in the lobby, then continues on outside getting larger until it forms the waterfall into the pool. The smell of pine. The designs of the chandeliers. Everything about it is awesome. To me, it's just the best of everything: it's being in a national park and enjoying the majesty of nature, but still in Walt Disney World, the greatest place in the world (at least tied with Disneyland. I don't want to get into THAT debate.)
The thing is, I've never stayed there. Sadly it just isn't in my budget, and won't be any time soon. But that doesn't stop it from being my favorite.
That got me thinking, what is your favorite Walt Disney World resort that you have NEVER stayed in, and why?

Ive never stayed at the Polynesian, but ive had dinner there a few times, and I love it there. Seems like when I go to plan a stay there, I choose somewhere else. I might have to split time like I did in Feb.so I can check it out better.....lol

Polynesian is probably my numbEr two choice of resorts I've never stayed at. A tropical island paradise in the middle of Disney. It can't get much better that that!

I'd love to stay at the Poly, but I just can't justify paying upwards of $300 a night just for a bed.

I want to stay at the poly and grand Floridian top two resorts for never..

We're staying at AKL in a safari view so that's one of my never resorts off my lists. Luckily with the DVC I was able to knock some of those resorts off the list.

Honestly, although I could probably find the money somehow (credit cards) I agree with this about all of the Deluxe resorts. The same goes right now for the moderates, since the price difference between the peasant resorts - uh, excuse me "budget" resorts - would be the difference between a much shorter or much longer vacation. But someday, when I win that Powerball lottery, or find that magic lamp, I'll be moving up in the Disney resorts.

Do the Treehouse Villas (or whatever they are now called) count?

I have stayed at the Polynesian and it's fantastic but I love the Mary Blair mural at the Contemporary Resort and the overall futuristic look of the hotel.

Grand Floridian. WDW's flagship hotel resort with style, class, elegance, beautiful grounds, spa, monorail stop, and multiple top notch restaurants... what more could you want? Just wish it didn't cost $66,000 a night to stay there.

While I wouldn't consider them favorites, I do have a definite curiosity about the Tree Houses. Maybe if I saw them they would move up on my list.

We've stayed at the treehouses, they were kinda cool kinda like a mini house each is kinda like a 2 bedroom house with a spiral staircase in middle if I remember correctly, the neatest thing I remember most about them as a kid the one time we stayed at them was the peacocks and being able to see them real up close...

not sure if the peacocks are still there

                      This.

But I love hanging out in the lobby, browsing the shops, plus I've eaten there (twice at Kona Cafe and lots of times at Capt. Cook's).

Maybe one day when either the boyfriend or myself win the lotto (or knock off Fort Knox), I'll get to stay there.
