  • Horizonsfan92's T-Rex Photos

Well I was in KC, Kansas and decided to visit the Legends Shopping complex. I figured I might as well take some photos for you all to get a hint of what's coming to DD next year(I believe so.) They aren't the greatest photos but at least you'll have something. Sorry for the darkness of some photos it's quite dark inside.

    Here we go:

    Aproaching the Restaurant

A robo dino in a little pool

They have the well tested build a toy concept here too

    More later

The tent-like structure on the right houses a fossil dig site which will be mentioned later

nobody was using the patio seating, it was 104 out!

    Even more to come!

one last look at the outside:

      the restaurant's namesake

underneath the big dino there are some small rex's(all robots)

the broken eggs are right by the big T's feet.

There's also a big octopus(I swear some of the tentacles moved, I'm not sure)The restaurant is two levels just incase you're wondering where some of these photos came from.

The fire around the grill, very cool. Notice all the warning signs!

There's some weird solar system thing going on with the ceiling. They have a big sun but what most people will notice is the earth globe. Notice the earth's continents.

A random dino hidden away in the restaurant:

There's some static wolly mamoths on the second floor

last few pics are almost here....

seems a lot like the rainforest cafe.

of course there's a shopping area

there's a little area where supposedly you can dig for fossils and buy them; here's a water wheel located in that area. It's in a tent like structure connected to the main building.:

I didn't actually eat at the restaurant so I can not say how the food is. I really didn't want to wait 30 min. in the heat for a 1:30 lunch! As far as theming goes, I would give it a B+. The animatronics could be better so I'll give them a C-. It is a fairly unique concept but in all reality is just a simple re-thinking of the rainforest restaurants. It will definately be a big hit in Downtown Disney and will be a welcomed addition to the "cityscape" that is DD. Hope you all enjoyed my pic's and have a great day!

It looks interesting and the theming seems to be good.

There's a lot of motion going on in there(which in this case is good and fits) and I, at least, enjoy the atmosphere.

Yeah, I saw it rise from the dirt, it and everest, very cool. It was weird, they installed some of the figures before even the glass was in! God, I can't believe I never took any pics of construction. Now that would of been cool.

No problem! I was afraid my luck would show again and someone would of already posted some pics.

Cool pics! Thanks for sharing. Looks like a really fun place.

Just to be clear, the rumor is that one of these will be built in Downtown Disney, correct? I thought I heard something about one opening in Animal Kingdom near Expedition: Everest? Or am I mistaken on that.

                            Re: Horizonsfan92's T-Rex Photos

Landry's is opening an asian themed restaurant in, where else, the asian section of AK. Evidently AK isn't going to run it's own sit down's. Oh well.
T-Rex is supposed to be built(from what I heard) in part of the parking lot that's in front of PI. Because, you know nothing helps DD traffic and parking problems like removing parking spots to build another shop and restaurant.

                            Hopefully that clears everything up!

The restaurant going in AK is apparently called Asia.
