I have a feeling Disney is going to shut down Mission: Space permanently. Way too many people are having side effects that have several times since it opened have resulted in serious injury, its a ride that must have been concieved by personal injury attorneys....

    My condolences to the family.

I was thinking along the same lines too, it was only a matter of time.

My own DD had a severe asthma attack on this ride so we won't do it anymore. The g forces literally took her breath away.

The child may have had a pre-existing condition, but four years old seems awfully young to handle that kind of force. It breaks my heart to hear about this, and yes, condolences to that poor family. I also feel bad for the team of people who put that ride together. I'm sure they're devastated. When you are designing rides that are that new, how do you test for something like that? I think with the fact that roughly 25 percent of riders were becoming ill, they might have to let it go.

It is really sad and my heart goes out to them. It hits close to home, I have 2 small ones myself.
He felt like his life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

                  That's absolutely horrible.

I've never been on it myself (I'd get ill on a carousel), but was it really that intense? Could they tone it down or something?

My condolences to the family. May the poor little one rest in peace.

As for the ride, yeah it's intense, but I think the child may have had some sort of pre-existing condition we're not aware of (nor were his parents).

Rose rode it at 4- she could not reach the buttons but she had no ill effects.

                      I feel sick about this-

I honestly don't know if I could ride it again....it took me a long time to be willing to ride BTMRR at DL again.

I haven't ridden MS yet, so I have a question for those who have: Does it have long fairly long periods of sustained G forces? Maybe they can modify the ride to lessen the amount of time spent at high G's?
