  • New name for Alfredo di Roma in EPCOT

LP.com is reporting that the temporary replacement name for Alfredo di Roma is Tutto Italia. This change comes after Patina Group was announced to take over the restaurant in EPCOT. The restaurant will undergo a refurb in Spring 2008 and will reopen with a new, unknown name.

    Tutto Italia?!?!?!?

    So generic.........

Better call it Tutto Unoriginale. Or Tutto Overcostoso.

I'd call it "tutto di gasso alla over de place".

        Wow.

So lets see, we have a tempy placeholder name to use while the owners of Alfredo's are gone, and before they close the place for a refurb.

Somehow from this we have dertermined that its going to be overpriced and unoriginal.

Hopefully it does not live down to your expectations.

And what does the name of a place have to do with the originality of the food anyway. It could be called Eats for all I care, give me interesting dishes, well prepapred with great service.

^^^ Would a place called Everything Italy entice you to enter? Then again, if they named the place Ristorante di Me**a, people would still enter because it is Italian.

It would not prevent me from entering either,

Is it a snappy catchy name, not it is not, but then snappy names do not make a restaruant.

How freaking original is Alfredo's? And you know what, when I see independent restaruants that are named after someone, that IS when I begin to worry. Most often its some pompus owner with a look at me complex who not only wants their name on the door, but also wants to muck around in the back of the house, where they most decidedly should not be.

Tutto Italia is a temporary name. Its simple, its to the point, and its bland enough for the general Disney crowds. You don't want to scare people off. All you have to do is call something "the gilded truffle" and you will have people running away in droves because they have no idea what a truffle is (or they do, and now they wonder about the price point)

The fact is, its a simple name for a temporary restaruant untill the new one is created, and yet within a few minutes of it being announced the brave bastion of micechatters decended upon it and once again started to rip disney a new vent.

It's not like it's much different than some other WS restaurants (most named after cities).

AHH! Not Patina Group. They've killed their CA DTD restaurants with bad service, and overpriced meals. I bet they do the same for the restaurant in Epcot. Yikes.

How can you possibly call $40 for A PIZZA overpriced?

How about "Italy" since that's what I call Alfredo's now when someone asks where I want to eat. :-p But then again, I might not say I want to eat there and just stick with Canada and Umbrella instead.

Wait, is it still part of the Alfredo's chain? Will it be the same food? I love those restaurants...

Were you expecting anything else from the Walt Disney company?
