  • The 'Disney Dining Experience' Discount Program

Has anybody used this and if so what are your thoughts and experiences?
I recently ordered an AP membership for our trip in late July and would like to know what to expect.

For anyone unfamiliar with the program, it is as follows ...

DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE is a dining discount program for eligible Florida Residents and Annual Passholders 21 and older good for 20 percent off food and beverage at a number of Walt Disney World Resort hotel and theme park restaurants and lounges. The discount is good for up to 10 persons in your party. (Prior to 2005, the DDE, as it is commonly called, was only open to Florida residents.)

-- General Membership (Florida Residents ONLY): $85.00
    -- Annual/Seasonal Passholders' Rate: $65.00
-- Florida Resident (non-Passholder) Renewals: $70.00 (for existing memberships received within 30 days of expiration date)
-- Add a second membership for your spouse or partner for only $25 more.

    Disney Dining Experience Benefits:

    1. Members receive a 20% discount on all food and beverage (including alcohol) for up to 10 people at participating table-service Disney restaurants.
-- Discount applies to member's check only.
-- One Disney Dining card per table. Two cards cannot be combined.
-- Member must be present to receive discount.
-- Card must be presented when ordering.
    2. Half-price admission to Pleasure Island for cardholder (hard-ticket admission excluded) and ONE (1) guest. The ticket will only be valid on the date of issuance. You must present the Disney Dining Experience Card to receive the discount.
    3. Club Newsletter
    4. Complimentary parking:
Theme Park for a short period for the sole purpose of dining. You'll have to pay parking at the toll booth, then after dining, present receipt and parking ticket at Guest Relations for a refund.
Walt Disney World Resorts - when dining at a Walt Disney World resort, valet parking is complimentary. After dining, present a dining receipt at the valet stand.
    5. Exclusive invitations to Disney Dining Experience events.

Re: The 'Disney Dining Experience' Discount Program

I use it, and will renew when my expires in August. It's great for 2 things for me:

If you go to a lot of sit down restaurants (full service), or have a lot of people in your party.

Also, if you are staying at a hotel that does not have a full service restaurant (Values and French Quarter) you get the discount in the food court.

I definitely have made up for the price, especially by going to Disney more than once in the same year.

Only thing to be aware of is that the refillable mugs are not discounted, FYI.

I would recommend this program if you have the AP. I am not a big full service person, but even only a few times, and the FQ food court, and 2 trips, I really got my money's worth.
    It's a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah...Tip for Today!

I will second it. I had it last year, and just re-newed it again. Mine has paid for itself too.

If you live in the area, they do run a lot of interesting food events for people who have the DDE - being that I live in NJ, its hard to pop in for a dinner event, but they do seem nice from what they send me.

I have had the DDE card for over 10 years. I think it's been well worth it!

Which is better, DDE or the meal plan? I figured it would cost my family about $910 for 9 days of the meal plan, but I'm wondering if it would be any cheaper or make a difference if we got the DDE?

how do you qualify if you live in NJ?

I am from AZ and wonder if I would qualify and if it would save me enough over 6 days to pay for itself....

I live in New York and have it too. You can get it if you are an annual passholder.
