  • (Hopefully) new Google Earth discovery

I searched and didn't see any other thread on this, so yeah.

I just got back on Google Earth after a very long time and, of course, go look for the Magic Kingdom. Well, I had the 3D buildings option on and check it out...

Yep, Disney replaced the simpler fan-made castle with their own model (which cannot be found at the 3D Warehouse). The only other "official" 3D building on property is the Swan & Dolphin models. I believe there is also a fan-made building in Italy.

If you go to Google Maps and type in the zip of WDW (32830), you will be taken to the WDW area. Next, click on "Street View". Once you do that, some of the roads will be highlighted in blue. You can move the 'little person' onto these blue roads and you will be able to see an actual ground-level picture of the spot that you are in. You can zoom in, zoom out, move forward and back and also look from side to side.
          Very interesting feature.

:ot: Maybe you all should navigate to the Tokyo section of Micechat and discover my newly posted photos/trip report from TDR's Summer Spplash event? And bring a poncho.
