  • Disney's Pirate & Princess Party

Please bear with me this is my first trip report....

Last Saturday, we went to the first Pirate and Princess Party since they debuted the event back in March 2007. The tickets we're 41.00 (advance sales) and 48.00 (day of event) kids tickets are cheaper, we don't have kids so I do not have prices, The event is from 7pm til' 12am and includes park admission, entertainment and a special fireworks show titled "Magic, Music and Mayhem"

As stated above the event begins at 7pm, however Cast members begin handing out wristbands at the turnstiles beginning at 4pm, now you just got your family 3 more hours for free and for Disney that's awesome.

After you enter the turnstiles you are handed a black satchel for all of your treasures and trinkets that you will be hunting for around the Magic Kingdom. All treasure locations are located by a large X on your adventure map that you recieve while walking the red capet underneath the tunnels before you arrive on Main Street U.S.A.

The red carpet areas were great for good photo oppurtunities and yes there are many fastpass photographers available to take photos for you and your pirates or princesses.

Lines during the event were minimal, (this was the 1st event in 6 months) I won't guarantee that it will always be like this, so plan accordingly. Also food was limited, Cinderellas table is booked for day guests until 9pm and Liberty Tree and Crystal Palace are closed for the Event. Tony's on Main Street U.S.A. is open, however only until 8pm. You can eat at Cosmic Rays (Tommorowland), lines were about 10 minutes long, They were only serving burgers and Caesar salads. Bay 1 and bay 3 were closed and had no menus posted.

Many guests including Mom's and Dad's were dressed in Pirate and Princess atire, added to the atmosphere alot, we also noticed that alot of the Cast members were dressed as pirates but not many as princesses.

    Entertainment Highlights:

Dream Along With Mickey (Castle Forecourt Stage)
    3 Performances
Same show as during the daytime just dark!

Character Parade (can't remember the name)
    2 performances
tip: Both performances Step-Off (begin) from Frontierland and end on Main Street

Magic, Music, & Mayhem (Skies above Magic Kingdom)
    1 Performance
    9:30pm
tip: Find a good spot in the Hub area in Front of Cinderella's Castle
This Show is worth all the money you paid to get in!!!!!!
    SPOILER ALERT:
    Spoiler
This Show utilizes what Disney calls "Perimiter Fireworks" meaning that the Fireworks encase the Magic Kingdom instead of just being shot from behind the Castle as in Wishes

Oh, the parade is called "Disney's Magic Adventures", and the same perimiter pyro is used for "Happy Hallowishes" on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party" and "Holiday Wishes" during "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party".

I'll be at the party next Friday (the 24th). I'll be the freak in the Jack Sparrow tank.

SO, now we know the reason for a second go around of P&PP!!
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

I was in the Magic Kingdom, now I'm in the Carribbean.

Yuck, I'd not even thought of that!

I wonder if they'll be able to extend all that candy for the Halloween Parties.

During High School and College I worked for a grocery store for a total of 7 years. A pretty major chain as well. While not quite up to the levels of The Jungle, old candy is nothing new.

As long as it has not been exposed to heat or humidity it should be OK. However, I am suprised that Disney would do something that is so obvious.

And before anyone goes screaming into the night, nothing was really unsanitary or nasty, just sort of unexpected. Like putting the boxes of dog buscuits into the deep freezers when they were infested with mealy moth.

Yeah, it's not something I would expect from Disney....

Mealy moths in the dog biscuits??!! BLECH!! I'm glad that I make my own biscuits for my dogs.
