  • Is it too early for me to do a countdown to Disney World thread?

Whenever I take a vacation to either Disneyland, or Disney World, I like to do a countdown thread. I will be visiting Disney World in December. I have never been to Disney World at this time of the year. I am very excited.

Stayed tuned to this thread, as I tell you about my plans, and I countdown the days. As of today it's 79 days until my trip.

I haven't been to Disney World, since July of 2006. I have never been there when the Christmas decorations were up. There are a lot of things that I am excited about. I am a compulsive planner. While I do not plan every moment of my day, I do have a general idea of what I will be doing each day, as far as what park, restaurants, and special activities.

We are planning on going to the Christmas Party. I do have the tickets, already purchased for December the 7th.

I have never been to a Christmas Party, a Candlelight Processional, or eaten at Rose and Crown. I have eaten at the other restaurants, except my Cape May meal was a character breakfast. Our candlelight processional has a different narrator. We will be doing that on December the 6th. Your itinerary looks great.

Re: Is it too early for me to do a countdown to Disney World thread?

On one of my past vacations, I decided not to use the last day of my pass. I was staying at the Beach Club at the time. I decided at that time, to upgrade my pass, and I returned home with a 4 day parkhopper with no expiration.

I decided recently to use those 4 days to see Disney World at Christmastime. I contemplated going alone. I had never traveled alone before. However, I have spent much "alone" time in the parks.

Just when I was going to call Disney and book my vacation, my friend Jennifer stopped by. You see, she is a MiceChatter and she had read my thread on MiceChat about me contemplating a trip to Disney World at Christmastime. We had a fun conversaton, at my house, and she decided to come with me on my Christmastime journey.

I was all set to stay in a value resort. I figured that it would be cheaper. I was leaning toward Pop Century. ALthough after I figured out my discount from AAA, I changed my mind, and we decided on POFQ. However, Jennifer wanted to use the Dining Plan. It was then I decided to let Jennifer's travel agent book the vacation for us. I usually do it all myself.

The excitement began. When we initially booked the trip, we were staying at POFQ for 6 nights with the Dining Plan. In order to get the Dining Plan we had to each purchase at least a One Day - Magic Your Way Ticket.

We paid our deposit, and declared, "We're Going to Disney World".

My trip is just 78 days away.

i have not been that impressed with the christmas parties but the candelight processional is awsome. the huge chorus and the voices of liberty singing make it seem like you are listening to the likes of the mormon tabernacle choir. on a side note, the part of the chorus that isn't filled with high school and college students used to be filled with cms who auditioned and volunteer their time off to perform. don't know if that is still the case or not. but even if you aren't religious, it's still a not to be missed event at epcot. as well as all the decorations throughout the resorts and all the lights at MGM. have a great time!!!

My decision to try out the Dining Plan for myself, was based on seeing it "up close, and personal". I vacationed with Jennifer's family in 2006. We wern't on the same package, so they had the Dining Plan, and I didn't. However, we shared many table service meals together on that trip. I figured that I would save money, just by booking some good ADR's on this Christmastime visit. The Candlelight Processional Meal is just charged as one table service credit.

                              77 days until my vacation.
