  • What's up with the WDW website?

I got an email yesterday with the latest Florida resident hotel deals and when I click the link it won't open the page. I've tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox and it doesn't work with either. If I have to, I'll call the number in the email, but I prefer to look up and book my rooms online.

I have all sorts of problems with the WDW website though. It's really annoying. And it's not my firewall settings because I have WDW as a "trusted" site.

You are not the only one. I have always found the WDW site to be unuser friendly and typically a mess. Too many options to choose from and quite difficult to navigate, especially when you are looking for specific information. When I have to go there, I usually have to do a search to find what I need to find.

^^ Yeah it does suck. It used to work ok for me but all of a sudden it's being a royal PITA.

I don't like the new format that it has, when I am trying to get information regarding a specific attraction it forces me to go through their "featured" attractions.

I agree it's just not user friendly at all.

It's not very user friendly nor is it very informative. A lot of times, you don't get a very good idea of what each attraction is like since they only give you a small, vague paragraph. You can usually get better information on a fansite.

Not to mention, if you have a slow connection, it takes 2 weeks for the home page to load up.

So I got my vacation time approved today. I call WDW and.... they don't have any rooms available for the FL resident discount! Well, they had rooms at Port Orleans but that's out of my budget this time around, even with a discount. I was very disappointed. I only got this email on Tuesday.

I have a 10% off coupon from Hotels.com I might use that instead.

When we have some free time in some of my networking classes, I occasionally teach my students some web design classes. I always show my students the Disney site and ask them to find everything wrong with it. Its a perfect way to teach good design by showing how a big company can do it horribly, horribly wrong. Disney has by far the worst website out of any major company.

You might try Holiday Inn's Priority Club. I get good discounts with them and I also earn points, for every dollar spent, towards free nights.

^^ But I want to do evening EMH at EPCOT when I go in May. I tried in January but was tired by 7:30 and I had to drive home that night (I live 90 minutes away). This time I'm staying 2 nights so I can drive home the following afternoon. I used my coupon at Hotels.com and got $20 off, so it's at least something.

I have no idea... but I like how you can actually search, for once.
