Disney's Art of Animation Resort | Walt Disney World Resort

A new piece of concept art for the Nemo wing is the main interest in this, since everything else we already knew.

One thing that is interesting for the art is it looks like the hallways are inside. I can't remember if this was announced already or not, but it would be the first value resort that had that, which makes it interesting. It actually looks like a cute play area too!

    We'll see in summer 2012...

The official website for the Art of Animation Resort has been launched!

All I can say is that it's great to finally see some artwork. And the theming for the Finding Nemo courtyard looks awesome!

    What do you think?

I notice in the concept art there are no doors or balconies, just windows.

Does that mean that the resort will have indoor corridors...like in the Deluxe resorts?

I heard they are shooting for AAA 3 diamond for this property, and you have to have indoor corridors to do so.

I've also heard of the indoor corridors. That would put it far above the other Value Resorts.

I wasn't really sold on this resort at first (admittedly, I spend too much time watching those creepy videos of the empty "Forgotten", er... Legendary Years property on youtube), and I felt it was too character-centric. But looking at those concept renderings, I gotta say that I'm slowly starting to get on board. If the resort is going to have color, vibrancy, life, AND corridors with doors on the inside... definitely a huge step up from the current Values and Mods.

I hope it does. It will help keep the riff raff away...you know, the ones who put their dirty laundry on display along the railings of the AllStar Resorts... PLUS, security-wise.. indoor corridors are safer than open air ones.

Hmmm.. I wonder if they would have to create a 6-Star rating for the Miracosta and TDL Hotels...

I really want WDW to try and make at least ONE luxury resort.

The so-called luxury hotel on the property (the Grand Floridian) is only a AAA 4-diamond!

Since the shells of some buildings are already there a la traditional Value resort, I wonder if those are the ones designated for regular hotel rooms and the as-pictured ones are for the suite buildings?

I'm just glad for more options to hold more then 4 people in the value band.

                              I think you're right.

The 864 rooms planned within The Little Mermaid buildings will be sea-inspired with an eye towards value.

The Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo buildings are planned to exclusively feature family suites which accommodate up to six guests.
