  • [Question] Port Orleans Q: What do to the evening we arrive?

My wife and I are arriving in Port Orleans French Quarter on Friday on the last leg of our Honeymoon travels. We will be arriving at the hotel around 6pm and I am wondering what the best use of our time is that evening. What are some of the evening / night entertainment options?

Port Orleans has tons of little trails and paths around it, with the gardens, and different areas between French Quarter and Riverside. Then you can take the boat to Downtown Disney, and stroll around there, then you can also take a boat to Saratoga Springs and explore that property. There are tons to explore just in that area.

Our last two trips (well actually our only two) to WDW we stayed at the POFQ, a wonderfully quaint little resort. I agree with the King... there is much to do in and around the Port Orleans resort area, and the boat trip to DtD is a lot of fun by itself, not to mention everything at DtD. Enjoy your stay.

The boat to DtD is a good way to go, sometimes they will have music there. DisneyQuest is a fun way to spend a few hours and they are usually open until 11 on Fridays. If you can get to the Boardwalk Resort, I always like Jellyrolls, plus walk over to Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club.

I stayed at POR twice, and I always wanted to stay at it's sister resort of POFQ. I have been there, because my grandson and I walked over there one afternoon, so he could swim in their pool with the dragon. He enjoyed himself, until he was interrupted by a rainstorm. We retreated to a meal in their foodcourt, which satisfied our hunger greatly.

The boat to Downtown Disney is very pleasant. I haven't kept up on the offerings there, so I won't comment on their restaurants and shops.
