  • school play auditions, anyone heard of this play?

so... as it turns out, were not doing beauty and the beast because the rights are expensive, disney gets a cut of the profits, and were only allowed to pack the house up to 400...

so the new play is something called "how to succeed in buissness without really trying", anyone ever heard of this... i might be in luck because one of the characters is of short stature (yay)

"How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" opened on Broadway in 1961. It starred Robert Morris. A film based on the play also starred Morris. You can find a lot of info here:

You may be able to find the film on VHS or DVD.

It sounds pretty funny. Is it suppost to be a comedy or drama?

it is a classic comedy about a windowwasher who finds a book called how to succeed in buisness without really trying that covers everything from stating in the mailroom to becoming the CEO, he does all of this without knowing what he was ever doing and the book guides him through the various parts of buissness, the part i am trying out for is mr. whomper, the president of the company who is short but in a big position.

GREAT Production! It could be played modern or retro 60's. Look for it on DVD or VHS because they filmed it almost exactly like the stage play so you can get a feel for how it will look. It's an old favorite of mine and it was on cable about a month ago. Bear had never seen it before and he got a real kick out of it.

Sounds like a fun play. When you go in to audition be relaxed and try not to sound like you are reading from a script. I wish you the best. I hope you get the part and have a lot of fun with it

It was (or is?) on Broadway again a few years ago - Matthre Broderick played the young lead. Have'nt seen it but I have the soundtrack and love it! it's fun.
                      Good morning, son
                      In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                      It was pain
                      Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
