  • Roy Disney files for divorce after 52 years

    http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercu...a/16502684.htm

Didn't see this posted anywhere else, not sure where it belongs, news, entertainment, dunno...

Just sad really, after 52 years of marriage, he's 77 and Patricia is 72. What do you do from that point? It seems strange that after so long together things could get so bad.

Just a sad thing to see really.

I'm sorry to hear it... my condolences to the unhappy couple.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Re: Roy Disney files for divorce after 52 years

In the article it says they've been living apart for a number of years. It sounds at least they are trying to keep it amicable.

People change over years. What happens if someone changes after one year, two years or 52 years?

I wish them both the best in their future.

Roy Disney files for divorce - TMZ.com

              http://www.tmz.com/2007/01/19/not-th...lace-on-earth/

TMZ has exclusively learned that Walt Disney's nephew, Roy E. Disney, 77, has filed for divorce from his wife Patricia -- after 51 years of marriage. Disney is citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The couple married on September 17, 1955, just after Disneyland opened. They have four adult children.

Roy was pivotal in ousting former Disney CEO Michael Eisner from his office. Roy is still a senior executive with Disney. Forbes estimated his fortune at $1.2 billion.

Because the couple when they get married takean oath to each other & family and friends (and before God) they will let nothing tear them apart. That includes themselves. Marriage should be thought of as a forever covenant or should not be done at all.

My prayers are with Roy and his wife. Surely after 52 years of marriage thier differences can be worked out.
