  • Apple Switches to Intel Chips in the next 18 months

I know a lot of us here are Mac fans, and up until now, apple has used Motorola or IBM-based processors. Due to an increasingly disappointing product roadmap by IBM, Apple announced today that they will begin transitioning to Intel-based processors in all of their Mac systems. This change over should take about 18 months. Any thoughts from the Mac community (or Windows users for that matter)? (Check cnet, macnn.com, etc for news feeds about this earth-shattering development).

Check out the tread in the Tech Lounge. At first I was very worried, but the Steve Jobs rality distortion-field make me like it and fall for it with his keynote.
