  • Is your bark worse then your bite?

After having a long over due 'end of friendship' fight with an old friend, I wondered if I'm not the same mean spirited rotten person I used to be. I remember days when I could easily rip someone apart with the words I choose. Go for the jugular I used to say. Find that piece of info out that will hurt the most and use it against them. Now, I have this problem of thinking before I speak. I guess it's me getting more mature but at times it sucks! I think now my bark is getting worse yet my bite is getting smaller.

How about all of you? Is your bark worse then your bite?

Im not sure. Im just very honest with most people and dont always say things in the nicest way.

I'd say my bark is worse than my bite, for I never follow through with what I say I'll do or whatever.

I also tend to dig holes for myself. I don't have the greatest foresight in conversations and am often the one who insinuates something negative about another person in the group without meaning it, and then spends the rest of the night trying to apologize for it.
"But every night, when it gets dark
      and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

I'm totally a peacemaker. So, I'm not sure that I have either a bark or a bite. I have to feel really cornered to come out swinging and then I'm apt to yell and cry at the same time.

          heh- yes.

I know the perception of me is very different than the reality. I use words fairly sharply- but I'm nowhere near as "hard" or difficult as people assume.

ahem- but I do bite and only rarely bark

Re: Is your bark worse then your bite?

My bark is much worse than my bite. I get heated very quickly and immediately say the most hurtful thing I can think of. Unfortunately I cool down quickly too, and then I regret the things I've said.

Over the last few years I have begun to pause to think before I speak, especially when I recognize my temper is flaring. A momentary irritation is no longer worth irreparable damage to my relationships anymore.

Yes, I am a screamer. I holler a lot, and say exactly what is on my mind. My honesty has definitely gotten me into trouble more than once.

On MiceChat, I tend to think a little bit more, before I post. I don't want that side of my personality to get me into trouble. I have many times, started to post something, and then when I went back, and read it, I said, "Oh, No, you can't say that". ....and I don't.

Re: Is your bark worse then your bite?

Well in the past I've had a bit of a reputation among friends for being sharp and at times, quite downright nasty, but then I realised that this was the reason that people stopped inviting me to places, talking to me, or making the effort to socialise. I'm still honest, I've just changed my manner and the way I go about it.

There's nothing big and clever about being rude and quick with people, as I've learnt from many situations when people have been like that with me.

I also am a peacemaker except when I feel someone I love is being victomized then heck have no fury like a mad mom.

I am also the keeper of a lot of secrets and no matter how ticked I get I do not use them in verbal warfare. I have a sister who will use the cruelest thing she knows to hurt someone when she wants.

I don't have much of a bite so I'll have to go with bark.

My bite is worse. It usually draws blood and causes tests to be had on the receiver for that gay disease of being fabulous.

My bark is definitely worse than my bite. I can get pretty heated and yell. Although my bite can be pretty bad too. Depends on the situation.

You may have the best relationship in the world with your husband, but there are just times you need your girlfriends. It makes for a healthier and happier you which makes everything else you do better.

You? Holler? NO! I can NOT believe it! You don't seem like a holler-uh..er. You are so nice!

Me...I have a bad bark and bite...BUT only when provoked. With me the rule "let sleeping dogs lie" comes into order.

There are times when I hit my limit. Then I just say what is on my mind. Sometimes, I regret it, but usually, I am glad that it has been said. That way people know how I feel.

One thing I can say is that, I won't talk behind your back. I try not to talk bad about people. If I am going to say something, negative, outloud, I would probably say it to you in person. Otherwise, I would just keep it too myself..
