  • Las Vegas Doesn't Like Me.

I am having the worst Vegas trip ever. EVER. We went to a restaurant for dinner that was recommended to us when when we checked in last night, i think they were using their food to mortally hurt us.it was nice out, so we were seated on the patio..big mistake. when the two tough, chewy, gamey meat substitutes were brought out, i thought the waiter was playing a joke on us. when we realized he was serious, we tried to choke it down, until i brushed something off my foot that was bothering me, looked down and saw that we were being swarmed by roaches. lots of roaches. we grabbed the baby and ran the heck out. when we got back to our hotel, i came down really sick with some weird infection, and i have to take a bunch of meds. AND I CAN'T HAVE A FREAKIN DRINK! ahhhh! i havn't been here for 12 hours yet and it's all shot to hell. my car a/c broke down and the pool at out hotel is overrun with some bad tempered, foulmouthed teens.
ok, i feel better now. thanks for letting me vent. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    please be afraid.

Las Vegas doesn't like any of us - they like our $$$$ but
so sorry to hear of all of this! Dude, make them pay (you'll feel a little better!)

here's the link for the Clark County Health Department - report them:
    http://www.cchd.org/restaurant_inspection.htm

and if the concierge at your hotel recommended the Hellhole Cafe or wherever you ate, report them to the hotel's management. Get some comp credit at least. Hope this helps some.

Personally, I hate Vegas, I think it's over blown and too much hype.

I'd arrive one day, see Blue Man Group, sleep overnight at Luxor, then leave the next day, IMHO.

Sorry about your bad trip so far!

I lived in Vegas since 92 and now Im back to beautiful cool temp California, Las Vegas is nothing like it was back in the day 92, I remember having juice to get into shows or whatnot, juice is what they call pull in vegas. If ya had it you where a big shot. But ever since corporate America invaded the loving close mentality of mobster casinos. No one is your friend anymore.

Joey bannanas of the Ceasar dosent greet ya anymore, Frankie two guns wont let ya in the back way.... Its all about the dollor now.

          I miss the old Vegas.

oh yeah those 98 cent steak dinners where great!!! :crybye: Vegas

There are still deals in Vegas...

                http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/topten.cfm

Headed there in 2 weeks for a Fortune Pai Gow tournament, was supposed to be $500 to enter, but I qualified by playing the game... should have costed (expected lost) of about $10, but walked away over $100 ahead, and now going back on the house's dime, free room and parties, plus the tourney!!!! Sometimes it pays to know the inside info...

Plus I won 2 VIP tickets to the Blue Man Group from the Highway Stations, so I will be have a wonderful time for very little coin

Do what ALIASd said... gripe like mad and get some comps out of it. They owe it to you.

Anytime I've gone through Vegas thats all I want to do... is get through it. We use to spend time there coming and going to Califorina a couple of times a year, but that was back in the 70's when it was a great place. And yes, I've thought for years that Vegas was much more fun when the mob was in charge. Of course you know the house would always come out ahead, but they cut you in for some fun time too. Mr. DooDah is right... corporate America sucked the life and the fun out of Vegas.

The only thing I like about Vegas is the water park, wet'n wild. Which was shut down this year! AHH!! It was the best waterpark too.

Re: Las Vegas Doesn't Like Me.

As we have gotten older we tend to prefer Laughlin. We will only stay at Harrah's. The pit bosses know us, even if there is a year or more between visits, and they always greet us like long lost friends. They will even lower the limits on the black jack tables so that Hubby can sit and play at the same table as me (I prefer $10-25 tables and with the way he plays $5 is pushing it). Our last trip I was stuck in the middle of a 1 am argument between 2 PB's who were trying to decide who knew me longer. You don't get the personalities in Vegas.

Good rule of thumb is never eat at Circus Circus. Hell don't stay there either if at all possible.

IS that where you're staying? We have a lot of Vegas experts here who can tell you a better hotel to visit!

GOOD MEALS IN VEGAS: If you want some TERRIFIC Wor Won Ton soup, go to the 24-hour cafe at the Orleans (just over the freeway on Tropicana). One of my favorite places is the Grand Lux Cafe. It's at the back of the casino floor in the Venetian. The pot roast melts in your mouth and the the chicken pasta in garlic cream sauce (with sundried tomatos!) is.... divine. For reasonably priced stuff, the Coast Casinos are a good bet, the Orleans, btw, is a Coast Casino. Their Mexican restaurants, Don Miguel's are tasty and they give you lovely bean dip for your chips while you wait for the meal. Very reasonably priced. If you want to spend a bit more (okay, a lot more), the Italian restaurant in the canal shoppes part of the Venetian (the one that claims its chef cooked for the pope) is delicious, but expect to spend $40-$50pp. I've also heard that Le Cirque, in Bellagio, has excellent food but quite the high prices. Speaking of Bellagio though, I HIGHLY recommend the Bellagio buffet as the best in Vegas. You can go on a weekday at lunchtime (before 3:30) for a pretty good break on the price. One nice thing about Bellagio though is that when they raise the prices, the offerings get even better (shrimp, always perfectly cooked, is always availible, but for dinner they bring out crab legs as well, just to give an example). Be sure to check out their meat slicing area, sometimes they offer unusual things like wild boar, but you can almost always get some kind of beef, turkey and usually they've got leg of lamb as well with mint jelly nearby. Too tasty! Okay, I could go on all day on places in that town, but I've gotta get to the meet. Hope things turn up for you!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
