  • Disneyland vs. Disney World Face Characters

    Hi everyone,

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I know that there are several threads based on face characters, but I am curious about the hiring practices in Florida. I've heard that it is easier to get a position as a face character in Orlando simply because LA is home to many models/actresses so the casting department can afford to be more selective. Basically, I am wondering whether I stand a better chance working as a character in CA or FL.

One of the potential colleges on my list is the University of Central Florida. If I get accepted for fall 2010, would it be worth my time to audition?

    Thanks!

Disney World is much easier just because the as you already pointed out, Disneyland can be much more selective. However, Disney World, also seems to use a lot more Face Characters because they have so many Parks over there.

You're attractive, so it's worth giving it a shot at either Resort. Also, it's all in the eyes of the Casting Directors, and what they think looks good.

Hm, I've heard both sides. LA does have many actresses and actors since it's near Hollywood and all, but not all want to go for Disney, you'd think they're trying for something bigger maybe? So people who audition for Disneyland are a whole variety. Aspiring actresses and actors, high school students, or just people who'd love to be a character because they love Disney etc. But yes, i'm pretty sure they're much more picky here at DLR. But i've heard WDW is hard to get in to. But it's definitely worth a shot!
I can't wait to audition, but I have a few more years to go :/

Yeah, I see you a lot as Cinderella or Aurora! But how tall are you?

        Thanks for the input!
Alice- I'm 5'4'', which I've heard is heard is good when it comes to auditioning because you don't tower over the kids. I'm totally with you on the dying-to-audition thing! Hope you have a great time at Disneyland tomorrow!
