  • Pocahontas: "Do You Have A Flag?"

    Hi Everyone,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I made a little mash-up of Pocahontas clips set to Eddie Izzard's "Do You Have A Flag?" routine, and I thought it might be MiceChat's cup of tea:

I hope you all like it!

And, as I was arranging clips for the above, the following song came up on shuffle, and I thought, "Oh, that's just too perfect!" so I threw another vid together:

    Enjoy!

Those are great! In the first video it really looks like the characters are saying that! I haven't seen the movie in a while so I don't remember if they actually say all that, but either way it was funny!

No, they don't actually say that...the closest one is Ratcliffe when he's doing the whole claiming "ceremony," but it seemed to me like it would make the plot a lot more direct if they had!! (None of the Native Americans ever talk to Ratcliffe, and John Smith and Pocahontas are too busy flirting to go very far into geopolitics! )

So, it's a lot of sorting through clips and adjusting speeds to give that illusion--I'm super glad it was convincing!!

Yeah, it was really convincing, especially the part where Radcliffe says, "Do you have a flag?" while holding the puggy

Yeah, that was actually just plain amazing. What he's actually saying there is "Trouble on deck?"--it's from right after Thomas gets rescued. But in general when you do a mash-up like this, you pretty much always have to adjust each clip by fractions of a second here and there to make it line up with the audio, sometimes change the speed, try different sections of the clip to see what has the best match with the vowels, etc., etc., before it looks quite right. That one, on the other hand--I just pasted it into the project and it worked perfectly, immediately!! It must be destiny!
