  • Unusual Sentences

Ok, try this: below are five sentences. Each one of them has something unusual about it. Can you figure out what it is for each?

1.Are we not drawn onward, we few, drawn onward to new era?
2.The five boxing wizards jump quickly.
    3. He was a man of great statue.
    4. Big elephants can always understand small elephants.
    5. Put the box on the table by the window in the kitchen.

*Some of these are quite hard, but let's see if you can get any of them!

Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?

It's hard. Make it multiple choice?

Nahh, that will give it away.

Oh. Haha. Number 5 is ambiguous. Meaning that it has a few different meaning and stuff. Yay, my english teacher's tangents are useful!!

              I'll give hints.

(Susie P. already got the first two)

              3. Is it correct grammer wise?

                    Re: Unusual Sentences

                    Let's see.

Put the box on the table by the window in the kitchen.

                    It could mean:

Put the box that is on the table, by the window in the kitchen.
Put the box on the table, which is by the window in the kitchen.
Take that box which is on the table by the window, into the kitchen.

Sorry. I tried. It might be confusing. HAHA.

Edit: The box could be anywhere.

                            Re: Unusual Sentences

                            statue ==> stature

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Yay! you've figured them all out! And to clear things up even further...

                              1. Is a palindrome, which means it is read the same way forward as it is backwards, like racecar or noon.
                              2. Is a pangram, which is a sentence that contains every letter in the alpabet.
                              3. Is a malapropism, which is an incorrect use of a word in a sentence, but still sounds farmilliar to the correct word. Like "He had to use a fire distinguisher.", or "Don't" is a contraption.".
                              4. This is a mnemonic, or a sentence or ryme, to help you remember, a rule of grammer, or how to spell a word. For example, "I before E, exept after C is a mnemonic.
                              5. This is an ambigutie, which is a sentence or phrase, which can have multiple meanings.
